This stunt he pulled with the tennis program looks horrible.

1) privately $5million was raised to keep the program without HY.

2) Did he lie to the BOT saying he could not raise the money to keep the programs…if not

3) If he cannot secure money from people in a way to keep a particular program afloat, he is really really bad at his job. As in, it really seems it was pretty easy for those donors to come up with the $5mil. It didn’t take long.

4) While the BOT may seem out of touch…it seems as though HY may have led them to believe there was no alternative other than cutting the programs. That action has made the University, HY, and the BOT look like total fools.

If there’s absolutely one thing people in power (BOT) hate…it’s looking like a fool.

Yes and no, many programs have cut a sport only to see it revived by alumni, former players, donors etc stepping up after.

Still remember when Cal started that trend by cutting their baseball program only to reinstate it then made the CWS.

While I totally agree that he should be fired immediately.
I don't trust the BOT to make a solid hire.

I named him Cashachek as soon as they hired his dumbass.

Name one good thing Hunter has done.

Just one.

With Jeff Long you could cite the master plan in facility upgrades and effort in branding.

Hunter would get credit in loosening the branding effort allowing sport specific retro logos to be used again, I guess, every coaching hire has been extremely lazy with boosters handling the majority of the leg work in making the hire.

The photo of him in the hallway looking scared shitless after the WKU loss sums up Hunter. It was a scary and difficult decision for him to fire Chaggy.

I just want to know who in the world had $5 million laying around that they could easily throw at a middling tennis program.

You will know when you see the logo on the courts.

Someone else will have to volunteer to go check it out.

HY has proven time and time again that he’s a bean counter. He’s not a charismatic leader. He not the guy to grow a business. He’s the guy to manage the decline.

I'll tip my cap at the Muss hire, but that's about it.

That’s the biggest problem. You and Hunter seem to be in the same boat. The issue is it’s actually Hunter’s job to know those people.

The Nolans were credited with all the leg work of the Muss hire, guaged interest, begged Hunter to contact him, made introductions etc.

This same narrative was said about Tyson and Cal.

A group of Bert era players were credited with the same for Pittman.

That's three times and not Hunter trying to sound humble, you know this because he has hired from within for track, gymnastics, etc.

The biggest tell is the fact the Silverfield hire has said to have no lobbying by notable alumni, boosters, etc.

Think about it, you had Jerrah pimping Petrino1.0 and Chaggy. Switzer pimping Bert. Former players pimping Pittman. Absolute crickets for Silverfield. He's had to sell himself and the program to everyone.

One would make a connection that Hunter's job is tied to Silverfields performance, but the reality is the majority of the BOT DGAF about athletics.
