His seat is definitely toasty.
But zero chance of being fired this year.
Another shitty year next year and I think he'd be gone.

He reached the Sweet 16 or better at the other Universities

A little of both. Mike is and has always been a pretty weak recruiter. On the other hand our fans aren't exactly showing up win or lose anymore and we've been falling behind in the facilities race in basketball for awhile.

my bar for mike is pretty low. I want NCAA tournament participation yearly. That's not some unattainable dream goal and for a program with our history shouldn't be that hard to obtain especially given a weak conference and a mediocre out of conference schedule.
So by my measurements we were winning one of 5 years during mikes tenure.
I'll admit we started in a pretty deep hole. However I expected mike to build us up from that hole not just jump up and down in the hole.

Mike can't recruit. Period.
There was absolutely no excuse for him not being prepared for the loss of our starters last season.
He knew he was losing Madden, Harris, and Portis...Qualls may have been a legit shock...but, anyone with an ounce of a brain knew halfway through last season there was a chance Qualls would leave. So, you at least have 3 for sure scholarships you need to fill.
We signed Jimmy Whitt...and that's it.

A loss to State on the road doesn't really surprise me, but the 40 minutes of WTF is a direct correlation to Mike's shitty recruiting.

Lets just rehire Pelphrey. More B.J. Young anyone?... No?... or how about Stan Heath. I loved the thugs he was bringing in. Anderson's a hog and his system alone is an auto-win against some teams. This ain`t Missouri. He'll get there. If he wins less than 19 games next year the discussion should begin, I think.

I love how there are only 3 coaches in your argument. Also you're right this ain't Missouri we should be more prestigious than them in basketball and we certainly have more money. If he wins less than 19 next season the conversation should be over and we should have another coach.

I said it two years ago. MA is a hog with a pedigree. That alone gives him ATLEAST one extra year to really do something. If you dont believe that then prepare yourself for some frustration.
