So what is your estimation is holding our program back right now? Is it a university/program problem?

He should have never came back. He had unrealistic expectations and this thread is proof. He's not had a losing season yet people are talking like he's been losing all time.
It's really hard to come home and it's proving true unfortunately.

I would love for Mike to be successful and he's certainly been better than pel. With that said we've been in the post season twice. Once to the ncaa tournament. If he has a losing season this year does it change your opinion? because we're a long way from for sure having a winning record.

What is Arkansas' weakness? Location, right? You can't fix that. I think we need bigs to do some dedicated grunt work and I think everything else will be fine.

I wouldn't have brought him back this time. If he was going to be the guy it would've been after Heath, if at all.
I think they need to get rid of Nolans shadow, it's something that needs to be done to rebuild.
I think the next coach has to come from a NBA background and can't have any ties to the program, the expectations will be lowered and when success happens the explosion will be good.
Now that said I'm not sure who you can get, the program is damaged goods perception wise.
The other thing the program has to do is get back into Tulsa Memphis and Dallas.

The state doesn't produce much football talent. it does produce plenty of basketball talent for a decent team if you can recruit the kids to stay home.

I think Nolan basically lived in Memphis during the offseason. You have one city in Arkansas where guys play hard nose b-ball.

I like what you're saying S but you know people will be rubbing sticks together on his arse day one. Just like BB.

This isn't football, there are players leaving this state that are better than what is currently on the roster.

Lower than they are now?

They aren't low or this thread would not been started, as he has never had a losing season.

we've been falling behind in the facilities race in basketball for awhile.
We have a brand new practice facility and a new scoreboard. What else do we need to be top 3 in SEC bball every year?

This is basketball. Arkansas actually consistently produces some quality talent. Mike just doesn't recruit well.

At a minimum Mike has to effectively recruit Arkansas.
The current talent pipeline is looking like he could field a solid team made exclusively of Arkansas players.
That's an incredible advantage that no coach at Arkansas has enjoyed since 1976.
If MA can't take advantage of that over these next 3 years he will absolutely go down as one of the worst hires in Razorback history.
I'm holding out hope.

I wouldn't say that. Just maybe the most dissapointing.

What exactly does Texas A&M have that gives them basketball success we can't attain unless we give mike 10-15 more years like everyone wants to
Facilities? No
History? No
Recent History? No
Fan support? No

They have a new facility (Reed is 10 years old) and practice gym.
Better recent tournament history in past 10 years.

BWA is still one of the nicest arena in the country. What people on here fail to realize about the practice gym is that we are playing catchup there not getting ahead.
Making the tournament in the SEC shouldn't be that hard, I can think of only a handful of programs that even care about basketball. I don't blame you for the first two years while you get your roster in order. But we're in year 5 now and we look an awful lot like year 1. It was terrible roster management and piss poor recruiting.

The two guys I would love to see come into Arkansas if they fired Anderson are Danny Manning or Dan Muller.
