It would seem that Coach Muss plans on using his transfer strategy here based on his comments at the State of the Hog here in tRock.

Mentioned over 500 kids in the portal already and will be more. Said it was just the nature of society now with kids moving to different High Schools and AAU teams. He seems like a forward thinking guy and will do well here.

Also, basically said we will not be burning up the current open scholarships just to get a warm body.

Its better to have another year with Gabe than to burn those scholarships to bring in two more Gabes right ?

Just utilize the skills he has. Defense and rebounding. Tell him if he shoots anything but a layup you will pull him off the floor.

No, he doesn't need to shoot any layups either. Wide open under the basket, kick it out fella

I really like his defense.

He’s been quoted saying transfers were like free agents and commits are draft picks. I have zero problems with this hire so far. I’ll also say Bo’s interview with him was reallly good.

An interesting take. With the modern transfer rules, he may be on to something.

Would he be eligible to play next year?

No. All but Harris (if he gets a hardship) would have to sit out a year. Still be nice to have Brown on campus tho. Giving him a development year would do wonders for him too.

Hopefully he can make hay down in Dallas. Well, between Little Rock, Memphis (provided we are going to start actually recruiting Memphis), Tulsa and Dallas he will have all the top high school talent he could need.

He's gonna win a lot of games for us.

Who was the last player we actually got out of Memphis?

You guys have literally been saying that for 25 years. "hopefully the Memphis recruiting picks up!!"

We haven't gotten anyone decent from there since Beck.

I didn’t realize Penny had unlimited scholarships for all the talent in Memphis.
