I’m actually not truly opposed to Rhett. It’s the creepy Shiloh cult that concerns me. If he were to be hired, none of that shite needs to factor into his ability to coach. But I absolutely agree that we’d be very lucky to get someone like him and I think he’d be successful here as long as he can just coach and is given the resources he needs and not just a giant buyout.

ETA: I’m not aware of him being a weirdo like Drink, et al. in terms of being an in-state guy. I’m just saying that we need to go for the best when we can and not limit ourselves to our false assumption of “meh, we need someone who can put a fence around Arkansas” - there aren’t enough SEC level players to build a roster in Arkansas and focus has to be across the board.

Yes. And we have it. We just need to use it and use it wisely for once and not offer it up on such a high level for failing. It needs to go back to being more based on jumping ship/keeping them out of same conference than just “let’s pay to fire them when they suck”.

I like Cignetti in interviews, I also like Jedd Fisch.

I think both will sign contracts in the off season the aren’t really worth this off season.

Also, we could beat their schools to it and admit that it’s okay to start a coaching search prior to February. frick Tittboss, I almost think he drops certain games and is in with the casino folks. Too many 1 score losses, etc. #Saracin

I'd love to hire Cignetti.... but I know I'm in the minority for what I'm about to say next.

Our next HC should be Barry Lunney Jr.

He's coached enough places to have connections in very good recruiting areas and would kill it in-state.

Good offensive mind and you know it would mean the world to him to be the head Hog.

yeah... I only have over 22 years of coaching experience and have a much deeper understanding of what it takes to build a program than the average fan.....

but sure....
you can be the expert..... you know who the next "guy" we have to have is.

Remember we all thought Chad Morris was the man for about 2 games and then reality set in....

We know what we are getting with Barry... career coach, lots of offensive knowledge, good recruiting ties, loves the state, means something to him to be a Hog.
Morris was the shiny new toy and that blew up..... just remember that

No one knows who we have to have. We know who we want.

Not one mentally capable person thought that. I was out from the press conferences when I saw him chugging water to softball questions.

If he was so great, he would have been at least pursued at some point, he hasn’t been.

I don’t give a shite if someone loves the state, Pittman loves the helmet. I want a mercenary dickhead that wins. Then says stuff like because you couldn’t go for 3 when asked about why he went for 2 up 50.

Or like Cignetti, “I dont like hotel rooms, so we get there late, we get up early, we kick their arse and we come home to sleep in our own beds.”
