2017 27th
2018 45th
2019 24th
2020 29th

Not much different from the coaches that came after.

Why is his high spot in his career maybe a year or two at Louisville and Arkansas?

That’s it. But he’s setting the world on fire at aggie with all those 5 stars with his offense when that’s all he has to do. Just offense.

What was cool though was the factors on his team here was the amount of Arkansas players who were instrumental in all those wins.

Some or maybe most of Arkansas’s best seasons had very good Arkansas kids playing important parts. Sam is recruiting Arkansas kids. Maybe he knows something.

yes, perhaps.... But, his recruiting was going to crap and fast. So, only if we were very serious about Nil would it work imo

A lot easier to get serious about NIL if you are winning.

I would say he is worth 2-3 wins every year all things being the same.

What do you expect he would do with less talent which was his future.

Three to four more years then fired as usual.
Umm, he would have had 4 years of Brandon Allen, plus Austin Allen after that, he would have just recently gotten to the point where we would want him fired. Would have been nice to not suck from 2012-2020ish.

Only a fraction of a percent of head coaches have enough staying power to stay relevant for 20 years. Only CEO style coaches can do that, and CEO coaches CANNOT win at Arkansas. Its that simple.

I do not want [current year] Bobby, but we need to be looking for the [current year] 2004 version of Bobby.

He is the first head coach for Arkansas in the SEC to have back to back 10 win seasons since 88-89.

For Arkansas which has accomplished little in the SEC, I would say that is pretty good.

Remember the Aggies are Aggies and historically had found ways of screwing up.

It matters not how many players on his teams that have Arkansas players but what mattered is that he got every ounce of talent from those teams.

A good example was the 2011 team that would have been 8-5 with Bert, Chad and Pittman.

No one would disagree that Arkansas players do play a big part in past success but the problem is what do you do with them?

If you don't do anything with them then you aren't maximizing the talent that you have.

Arkansas recruits roughly in the 22-26 range each year but the results don't match the recruiting rankings.

This obviously, but who would that be?

Everyone we see is a Saban clone or definitely not that.

I've thought the same thing too many times to count. That's something he excelled at doing. He squeezed everything out of his players. We were also very well disciplined.

I truly hate it we are having to reminisce about past coaches due to our current situation, but here we are again.

I keep thinking that we are going around in circles over and over again.

This isn't HDN's SEC, or even Bobby P's... Nil has changed the landscape. You hurt your players feelings, and he will pull a "Steve Miller Band" and take the money and run.

Bobby P will never be successful in cursing out, belittling, or degrading his players like he was able to at one time. He has to tone it down, or it won't happen. The prick part of Bobby P is one of the amazing character flaws that aided in his success.

What Tyler Wilson when through with that man.. .

So, In theory. Finding someone who was as attention to detail as Bobby P. , Could recruit as well as Chad Morris, Could "rah rah" like HDN, and had a folksy down home appeal like Pittman... Does this exist?

Oddly enough, there are so many of those past players who have lobbied for his return to the U of A's admin during our past two coaching searches. Tyler Wilson and DJ Wilson are two that quickly come to mind.

People said the same about Saban, so he tried a softer approach the last few years, but two games ago he finally had enough and went in on everyone on the sidelines, and they pulled their head out their asses.

Petrino left Bert with some salty defenses by Arkansas standards in 2014 and 2015.

Arkansas since he was fired, has failed to maximize the talent that they have.

You can't tell me losing to Memphis, SMU, Liberty and Louisiana Monroe was a result of talent?

Arkansas recruits roughly in the 20-30 range which means they should finish in the lower top 25 just about each year.

Fans don't understand the physiological ramifications of losing to these bad teams before SEC play begins or in the middle of the year.

Forget about competing at a high level. Arkansas needs to focus on beating Liberty.

In 1974 20th ranked Arkansas started the season by beating #1 ranked USC 22-7 in Little Rock. Then lost the next game to Okie st and finished the season at 6-4-1.

It’s what we do.

Oklahoma State was solid that year.

They beat Arkansas again the next year.
