Spoken in absolutes... Care to provide some clarity.
I mean, "If he wins 5 games, he will still be coach next season".
So we both stated absolutes... Uhhh????

HY will give him another year regardless.
Still lots of talent on the field.

Not if he goes 0-8 in the SEC.

Unless the team quits then they shouldn't.

He absolutely gets another year.

So what are we looking at? Anybody really thinking 0-8? If we go winless I have full faith in Hunter to send him packing. Seems like our best case at this point is getting by auburn, Miss st, and Florida... That'd be 6-6, 3-5. I think Hunter makes a move if that's what we end up with.
The conference record is only 1 under 0.500, so not just horrible, but 6-6 for the 2nd year in a row, in year 4, with a veteran Qb and RBs shouldn't be acceptable, especially considering how lost we look at times. If we would've won the BYU game and overall improved from last year, I wouldn't expect Pitt to go anywhere. So yea, I think the BYU game pretty well cost him his job.
Along the same lines if we somehow come up with a win against Bama or Missouri, on top of the other 3, and finish 7-5, 4-4, I'd fully expect him to stay.
I think we'll finish 5-7, 2-6 and he'll be canned

If we go 5-7 and keep Pittman. Fan support will evaporate for next season. It would be a huge gamble, if next year isn't an immediate bounce back, HY would then have his own job at risk

I think you’re right that 5-7 is the record with an unknown keep/fire outcome. 6-6 he keeps his job and 4-8 or worse means he’s fired. 5-7 could be enough to punt until next year but would create an unhealthy set up for next season.
I think HY will do what’s right like he did with Mike Anderson. You can tell by the look on Sam’s face that he knows what he’s up against. I doubt there will be much drama.

Nutt went 4-7 and 5-6 and didn't get fired, neither will Sam.

Nutt also won the sec west and beat Texas in the cotton bowl by that point.

And had us in a national championship conversation.
And had reduced scholarships as an excuse.
Those 2 situations are nothing alike

He was also bringing in what was thought to be the greatest Arkansas class ever at the time

The 2000 class?
The one class that only a few players made it on campus?

And we sat and watched him shite it away.
Sam's seat is only warm at this point.
Fans will line up next season drinking the same damn Kool-Aid they did this season. Listening to the sunshine pumpers and purchasing season tickets.
Sam will be the HC until he doesn't want to.
