Kiffin wasn't in my top 3, but I'm warming up to the idea. I think all the concerns about him are legitimate, but many can be addressed with the contract, if constructed well.
Of the known candidates, Kiffin is almost certainly the best recruiter.
Of the known candidates, Kiffin almost certainly runs the most productive offense, with the possible exceptions of Norvell and Rhule, neither of which are apparently realistic candidates.
Of the known candidates, Kiffin almost certainly has a better understanding of the SEC landscape, what it takes to be successful in the SEC, what will and won't work in the SEC, etc.
Of the known candidates, Kiffin almost certainly has connections with, and access to the highest caliber of coordinators and assistants among them.
Of the known candidates, Kiffin almost certainly has the highest name recognition and relevance to the kids we want to recruit out of high school.

Recruiting and staff (think Pittman, Briles, Shannon)

Not sure that gives the true picture. I'm far more interested in his conf record because that would be how he fared against like competition.

Not totally sold on kiffin alone, but kiffin with the rumored staff is by far the best option

I see Kiffin fielding a more balanced team, whereas Leach is going to be more offense heavy. Leach would lose to this year’s LSU team something like 72-38 whereas Kiffin’s team would lose something like 21-44. Leach’s offense isn’t that much better than Kiffin’s (if at all) to compensate for the worse defense.

Yeah I'm with you. If it was just Kiffin or just Leach I would probably take Leach.

Also OCd Bama's best offense and won a natty there.
His pedigree, name and attitude are big pluses for me and for someone to success here.
Plus ties due to his dad are another positive factor.
We will be sorry if he lands at Ole MIss or Mizzou.

I'm not sold on Kiffin either. Not by a long shot. But I will support him if he is hired.
Something to consider:
If Florida Atlantic played in the American Athletic Conference, they would probably rank 6th, at best.
That's Memphis and SMU's conference.
Conference Rankings:
American Athletic Conference
Conference USA
Florida Atlantic competes in much weaker conference.

It's fine to not understand why Kiffin is anyone's #1, but thinking Leach is better is just silly. Leach is one of the few names mentioned that I absolutely do not want at all.

No reason to think why Leach couldn't assemble a great staff also. Losing Alex Grinch to OU this year held him back. Just think of what Leach could do with a great staff that he could retain.

Grinch went to Ohio State before the season last year. I know because we were throwing his name around for DC when we still thought Morris was going to actually live up to his bullshite.

I have been anti-Kiffin from the start but if he can actually bring in that hypothetical list of assistants frick it I'm hoping on the train. I can't believe any other coach that's available can bring in that level of assistants, granted I never thought Kiffin could either.......but if he can......ALL ABOARD

You’re right my bad. Still I more faith in Leach with a good staff having us competing at the top of the SEC than I do Kiffin.

You had me until "Leach".
I think you meant to say Norvell.
