First, thanks for allowing me in here. It'll be nice to have a discussion without all of the OU and TX folks chiming in like they are doing in the Rant.

I'm a graduate of both UGA and OSU. I've had quite a few good interactions with Arkansas folks in Athens. I think you'll enjoy Stillwater.

I'm expecting a really good game. Your mobile QB will give us fits, but I don't think y'all can stop our offense. It may very well come down to turnovers and special teams.

We're a little more optomistic having Petrino calling plays. Our defense was alright last season, but our offense was straight garbage and cost us at least 4 wins.

We don't know yet how good we are, but we should be good enough to make a game of it.

What makes the O so tough? It looked average last week. Ollie is a beast.

They scored 44 points on cruise control.

The last time SDSU played UAPB, SDSU won 90-6.

All of the OL, the QB, and the two leading WRs are back from last season.

2018? Not the same team though they are bad.

You went all the way back to 2018 to compare... Dude. You are a guest here and thus far you are being condescending a bit, don't ya think.

South Dakota State is not nearly the team of last year, or two years prior imho. You may win, but it won't be because of your awesome defense and this isn't the team of last season for the Razorbacks.

the Portal has changed yearly comparisons for talent, you should definitively know that. One name, Bobby Petrino....

Gotcha.

How will y'all contain Taylen? He seems like a matchup problem

Not at all. UAPB is what it always has been. In the time since that game, SDSU has risen to be the dominant team in FCS. They had won 29 straight games and two championships.

OSU scored 44 points on them. I was responding to being asked why I didn’t think Arkansas could stop OSU’s offense.

Again, I think this will be a game that comes down to turnovers and perhaps special teams as I think your mobile QB is going to give us fits.

OSU has a propensity for giving up big plays in the secondary (see UCF last year). SDSU was able to burn us a few times.

I don’t think we shut you down by any means. I expect for us to try to control the ball with Ollie. If you can stop him with your base defense, we’re in trouble. If you start stacking the box for him, Bowman will start hitting our WRs.

ok, you know the old song..."You may be right, I may be crazy".. but

I do believe our LB's are much improved as a unit. Our D line will be strong and get into Bowman's face a bit.. does he rattle, can he truly take off often?

When I look at the talent level across the field on both teams, Arkansas wins. When I look at Offensive scoring with BP at the helm, Arkansas wins. When I look at ST's... OK State comes out on top. When I look at 2nd level D... Hmm, OK State on top. RB-Ok State, WR's-even, Qback- Bowman is good, but green with Petrino, Arkansas...Head Coaching- Ok State.

Intangibles: Away game favors Ok State... Or does it, we have an odd outlyer in the past couple of years in that we have played better in away games than at home. Still OK State. Weather/ Both... Time of play? earlier games usually aid the away teams because fans aren't boozed up and ready like night games (noise, etc.),

I see a fairly even matchup overall, so who has the grit, the edge, the conditioning? We shall see... looking forward to the return trip from yall to Fayetteville as well. WPS!

This will be a close one. There’s a lot more known about OSU…really no surprises there. They are solid, tough, well coached and at home.

Arkansas on the other hand comes into the game almost unknown. Certainly they didn’t show anything they didn’t want to against UAPB and no conclusions can be drawn from that mismatch. The hogs do seem hungry and ready to go. While I’m surely biased, I think this allows Arkansas to be well prepared for what OSU wants to do and OSU will likely be on their heels against Petrino’s offense, BMFP has a history of being very difficult to prepare against in big games and my guess is that he didn’t spend a lot of his summer worrying about what UAPB does on defense.

Bowman isn’t a true running threat. He sometimes has a tendency to force balls and throw off of his back foot.

The offense is a lot of RPO, and Bowman typically reads it pretty well, but see above.

Our defense is streaky, but it does get timely turnovers.

I know I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but I think both offenses will score. Turnovers will be killers.

On paper this should be an Arkansas win, the 26th most talented roster vs. the 53rd in OSU. But I don't think Arkansas is nearly firing on all cylinders yet with Green and the offense, we saw a shaky start against UAPB and it'll take even more time for Green to get up to speed against much tougher competition.

If this game were later in the season (and assuming our team hasn't flat out given up), then I think Arkansas wins. This early on with a new QB from a lesser conference, a new OC, and a lot of new pieces... I just don't see us coming away with a win.

I think it'll be a close, hard fought game though. In a close game, experience almost always wins - especially at home - and OkSt has that experience across the board.

Welcome.... I've been looking forward to this game for a while now. Wish we played y'all on the regular. I think Bowman has a big day. Our 2ndary wasn't tested vs UAPB, and I think a seasoned QB with big physical WRs will be a nightmare for our D to stop. Our DL should give OG3 fits, but if our O can't sustain, they will wear down for lack of depth. I agree with you in that I don't think Pokes D can stop our offense. In the end, I think turnovers decide this game.

That was a fantastic game, and I wish Arkansas much success for the rest of the season.

Y'all contained 0llie except for in the final OT. Bowman, as expected, was streaky, and his stupid un-sportsmanship penalty was not becoming of a seven-year guy.

Turnovers.

To your credit your team played horrible but still found a way to win. An ugly win is always better than a pretty loss. Good luck to you going forward!

I just saw that Collin Oliver (LB that hit your QB on the pic-6) is done for the year. He was injured on that play.

I hope that all of your players are okay.
