How much longer

I won't lie. Since Petrino got fired, and we've hat to endure the JLS, Bert, Chaggy, and Pittman shiteshows, I've become pretty apathetic.

Now that Muss has brought the program back to national relevance and DVH always has us in the hunt, it's pretty easy to say frick the football program that always embarrasses us fans.

Seems to me that we need a coach like Petrino to run the show. He will get the most out of team.

A coach like Petrino was would have most of his players portal out on him every year, just like most of his coordinators did. I don’t think you can really be that guy anymore, unless you have a history like Saban.

The last football game that I remember truly caring about was Auburn in 2020. That one stung.

I would like to think the good ones would stay because they would actually get to showcase their talent. The ones that would transfer would be the ones that were never going to get meaningful snaps.

All we have to do is get the recruits, the good will outshine the bad, and if they leave so be it.

The older fans are dying out.

That leaves the the younger generations growing up watching bad football.

They either are less invested because football is so bad or they are not interested in football as a sport.

The other sports for great support will be fine but filling up a 76,000 seat stadium in the future will be tough.

I will be here until I am gone from this earth.

It sucks to have seen what Petrino could do with some elite talent from one school at offense. A excellent Qback, and some decent defensive players.

But, he couldn't recruit in this new NIL era IMHO.

This is all on Sam to fix now... If we can win 7-8 games.. I will still be on board because I am realistic with the changes in coordinators, new players from HS/Portal, and the truth that some just can't deal with. We are Arkansas... Proud but unable to keep up with talent, coaching, in the best conference in college football. It would take an incredible season of having mature players. And they won't hang around anymore because of NIL... It would take a NIL game above our competitors, good luck with that. It would take a coach not afraid to compete against the upper echelon of the SEC at a university that has had 5 coaches in the last 13 years. It would take a complete change in philosophy in the BOT/PTB and Donors to make it happen.

Have any of us seen this be even a consideration in our lifetimes? No! We are ... who we are period. And it sucks, so we hang around watching for the next dumpster fire or upset.

At least we have this, coaching searches are always fun

The problem is Petrino was a coach on and off the field.

He didn't have an on and off switch.

Arkansas doesn't need a rah, rah players coach.

Those never turn out good.

They need a strict coach that is also nice, pays attention to detail, doesn't have teams commit stupid penalties like on Saturday and has a sharp mind that can figure out problems quickly instead of waiting until the season is over.

I’m in my 20s. All of my friends are still die hard razorbacks. Doesn’t matter how bad the product may be, guys whose whole families are razorbacks are still going to root for the hogs.

The fan support will be weaker in football because the younger generations don't care for football.

Regardless if Arkansas is good or not, football in all places is in decline.
