This is way beyond our coach or even the BOT. The football culture in Arkansas needs to change and that means everything from the announcers to the pundits to coaching starting in Arkansas little league programs.
Folks we are stale. We need to shuffle the deck. Check out the body language of the person calling our games in all sports some time. Listen to the silliness we have to endure from our pundits waiting to get to the meat of what happened after each game.
I challenge everyone here to spend time outside of Arkansas and get to know the cultures of some of our competitors.

Hit the nail on the head. From pee wee up our state is behind everyone surrounding us. Honestly we’re behind most of the nation. In terms of how kids are developed from about age 9 and up.

I really wish this wasn't true but I am sure it is. Absolutely unacceptable on any level and completely embarrassing, if it is even possible for us to be embarrassed about anything at this point.
There are so many things wrong for this to happen. Just fricking unreal.

Does this really matter that much in the NIL era? Even with comments like this I don't feel like we are forward thinking enough.
Indiana and other schools are able to build teams without recruiting instate talent. They are good at evaluating existing talent.
I don't view the state of Indiana as a high school football powerhouse.

Everyone said they knew our signals last week, apparently anyone who watches tape knows the signals. Would explain why the defensive lines went untouched multiple times.

I've seen less than 2 full games and I can call most of our plays.
And it's pretty hard to be a zone run team when your OL can't move their guy off his mark and wall off. Half the time they don't even get their hat playside. There are NO running lanes. Part of the zone is playside, the other is a wall off if you can't overtake to give a backside A gap cutback. Not once in two games have we gotten it that I have seen.
Lord, I won't even get into Pass Pro but BOB protection doesn't work when the QB can't see the back streaking up the sideline uncovered because they brought 6 and he didn't throw hot.
So many levels of frustrating.

Before I gave up watching, I started noticing that the center was predictable on when the snap was going to happen. It was in a rhythm - head down, head up, snap, equally paced.
If you feel rhythm at all, you could fire off before the linemen and yet not be offisides. That split second is deadly.
Now that was just after I noticed it and started watching closely, and not long before I turned it off.

You’re not wrong we don’t need in state power to be good it would just help, and could be better based on our population level. Look at the number of baseball and basketball prospects we produce and the football ones, it doesn’t add up.

If you look at the consistently successful high school programs in our state, the Coaches have a pretty good idea of who will play where, years before high school.
In some of these areas, a kid already knows the RPO on day one in the seventh grade. I was born and raised in AR but raised my boys in North Dallas, TX. If kid does not know RPO on day one of middle school, their fate is already sealed 85 to 90% of the time.
The HS John Stephen Jones went to has a meal plan the young men adhere to including what to eat each day and on specifically the supper the day before the game.

Interesting points and along those lines, I think we should be raising NIL money at every turn. I keep hearing people say well the Hogs need to show us something. I say keep the pipeline flowing but with strings attached. To wit: If you eat a certain Dave’s burger, x number of cents go the the NIL. If you buy so many gallons of gas from Double Bee’s, so many cents per gallon goes the the NIL, etc. If you buy a certain Circle and Square beer while attending a game at Vaught-Hemingway, a portion of it goes to their NIL finances, for example.
Do we not have the people in place to manage the NIL funds so that they may not always be distributed just because we have them? (I think I can already answer that,sadly.) What I am getting at is can we tell the coach’s, we already have the money but your results will justify how much you get.
