It's the programs mo. Everything about Odom coming back reeks of the GOBN.

Got to have someone with ties to the state, he's winning at UNLV, he won't be as expensive as the best coach available, he's got SEC experience.

Our leadership is clueless on how to put together and maintain an average program much less a winning one.

I don't get the fascination with Odom. Truly.

I agree. I’m not advocating for Odom at all. Just seems like a path we’d take unfortunately.

We haven't done it yet for the most part. After 2021 we had 18 transfer out 10 transfer in go 6--6 + bowl win in 2022.

2022-23 26 transfer out 20 in went 4-8 2023 season.

2023-24 34 transfer out 20 in ???

2024-25 Already had 2 leave the team.

This isn't the first place I've seen his name dropped, but others seem to have him on their wish list.

And that's what I just don't get. I find no sense of excitement at the proposition, and I don't see it garnering any sort of positive momentum with regard to recruitment, either.

Arkansas hasn't had good leadership since Broyles was in his prime decades ago.

I was rooting for Odom tonight.

Just a great guy...

Here is what he is accomplishing so far, Taking a bottom feeder and elevating the field of play immensely. Showing amazing fire on the sideline and towards the players, and officials. Advocating for his team in the media. Hiring good assistants.

He isn't a splash hire by any means, but man... I could "ignorantly" be sold on him, with our current coordinators staying on... Won't happen!

I'd rather take a flyer on a young up and comer like twill. Keep the best part of program together and try to grow off it.

He also already failed as a head coach in this league

There are literally billions of people on this earth that have not been tried yet. Why would we pick one of the dozen who have been tried and have already failed?

Odom is a fantastic guy and a solid coach. Arkansas leadership doing what it does and with other things floating around I've already come to terms with him being the pick when it all goes down.

Unless we just blow the rest of our schedule, it would be a mistake to replace the current staff in season or after. A ton of quality players returning for next season. Sam has a very good staff and one of the best play callers ever to coach football.

Never said we should fire him right now. Doing so would be a panic move and definitely flush the rest of the season.

We should have fire him a few years ago when he wanted the pay raise. Fired him when he hired Sexton.

I am saying the original post suggests he would just be able to pick and choose when he goes, and that’s bullshite, it needs to be announced the week before our last home game that he is stepping down after the season. Let him get the applause, and start the search.

What did he do? Run off the two best coaches he hired in Hatfield and Holtz? Overlook Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer? Seriously what did he do?

Some coaches aren’t meant for the bright lights. They do well in the sub programs and never make it in the p4. Look at Scott Frost.

Based on what, exactly?

We’ve hemorrhaged players in the portal every year under Pittman since the 2021 season, including several captains and multi-year starters.

Player continuity is practically nonexistent in modern college football for programs like ours.

He didn't run off Holtz, he quit.

Holtz inherited Broyles players and won the Orange Bowl and from that point his results began to decline.

Running off Hatfield was the beginning of his blunders and hiring idiot Jack Crowe, firing him after one game should be enough to forced Broyles into retirement.

Arkansas should have hired Terry Don Phillips you know the one who hired Dabo at Clemson.

Nah we like ADs to be fossils.

If he hired Johnson and Switzer?

They would win at Arkansas but unfortunately the NCAA would give Arkansas the death penalty right before joining the SEC. The fans would bitch and moan at Broyles, forcing him into retirement.

They would be good hires in this era of NIL and a weak arse NCAA.

Having watched our program since the 60s I’d say he did a hell of alot.

Every success our programs have are because of him.

Plus the success of other coaches and programs who learned from him.

I’ll just assume you have overlooked his accomplishments to support your negativity.
