They should beat Missouri, if they lose on Wednesday then this team has truly thrown in the towel.
At this point we can't drop either of the Missouri or Vandy home games. With @Tech and @LSU mixed in, our record could be ugly going into February.

Most projections have us winning 6-7 SEC games. Of course, most of those have us beating Mizzou so that will drop with a loss on Wednesday.

As terrible as it has been, we are still projected to finish above the SEC media predictions. Not that it really means anything.

For the record, I don't necessarily want him fired - I want him to win. And more than just enough to keep his job, however many that is. We should expect to be in the chase for the SEC title every year. Realistically in the chase. And expected to go at least two rounds deep in the NCAA nearly every year. Minimum expectations.

Unless the team absolutely craters he should be back for another year.

Why? If so, get ready for record low crowds at BWA similar to the last two football seasons.

Ah, you mistook what I said.

I did not mean he should be back as in of course he's earned it, I meant he should be back as in the odds are very much that is what will happen.

What Mike Anderson has going for him is that... well... to be honest... we all want him to succeed. If Mike Anderson wins a national title in basketball at Arkansas it will be the greatest thing since 1964. Better even then his mentor's title because we love Mike.

Now, what I think will happen is this. We will have a craptacular year but we will win a few games down the stretch. Maybe make the NIT. Maybe not. The SEC is extremely strong on top and the drizzling shite after that.

Mike will get one more year. The all or nothing year for him.

Let me be completely and perfectly honest here. I have razzed Stone and Dale and Boar. But here it is.

Damnit. I wanted MA to win, to win big.. because we as fans deserve it, but also because MA deserves it. The dude is as good as it gets. So, with the above said. I will root for him to pull out all stops and shut everyone, including myself up. Get us to a final 4 and more. I am serious here folks.

Nice guys usually finish last, or so it seems. MA is the man in the white hat, who is as classy as they come. I would love to see him succeed and hang it up following at his own choosing.

Pipe dream.. I know.

It is what we all want.

If Mike Anderson was not Mike Anderson we would have let him go. But he's Mike Anderson. That will not make any sense to someone who is not a hardcore Razorback fan.

However his tenure here at Arkansas ends... just once I want to see him make a deep run in the NCAAT. Just once I want to see him make a serious run at the brass ring. Just once, just once, I want to see the nice guy finish first.

Win against Mizzou doesn't matter. He has reached his peak.

So far we are averaging over 15k tickets sold/ game

We'll finish with 15 or 16 wins heading into the SEC tourney.

Then we should give him at least another 2 years

And this Hog fans is where the politics and the GOBN come into play, IMO.

At 16-18 wins, the MA supporters will claim it's a young team, he deserves another year.

18-20 next year then they scream just one more.

I've met the AD, seems like a good guy, but have no clue about how he'll view this issue at years end.

I do know he caved and allowed games to continue in tWardump.

It will be harder to fire Mike than some think.

There are better coaches out there, but I'm pretty sure we'll frick around and settle in a few years.

16 would be 7 SEC wins, probably 9th in the league.

In general, ADs love to try and get "their guy" in as quickly as possible.

I think it really just depends on Mike's approach.

I haven't been following this year at all. But I usually am against firing a coach unless he produces multiple losing seasons.

So I guess PosiHog camp. But really more like the WakeMeWhenFootballStarts camp.

I cant even begin to do this. This next years home schedule sucks, we have sucked and most likely will continue the suckage this year with so many young players and a stop gap at QB....

I will half heartedly watch FB this next year. Dangit. Cant wait for Baseball Season

I'd rather suck than be mediocre, honestly. 6-6 and a stepchild bowl is a lot more demeaning to me than 2-10. At least when we're bad I can troll tRant and Reddit with nothing to lose.

My only problem with that is this. Any coach who changes system, has to clean house from players under the last regime with attitude problems... Needs to see improvement in year 2 or things become unbelievably difficult from a recruiting stand point, loss of more fan support, apathy, etc. CCM getting to a 6 win season next year would be leaps and bounds better than this last, extend practice opportunities and allow a bit more time to get things turned around.

Can you imagine the atmosphere next year, if we have the same record as this year.. Dude!

No doubt. You have to improve. I just won't have as much fun next year as I would during the 0-3 win or 8-15 win ranges. Unless we shock the world.

But a little of this year's suck swag will be left over.

Hopefully year three will be in the upper limit.

Well, in regards to football we will obviously be better next year. Maybe not by much, but they will improve.

Year 3, 4, and 5 should be where football will get exciting again. I'm done with the emotional rollercoaster of football for the time being. It has sucked a lot of the joy in sports out of me over the last few years (6 or so).

The good thing about Mike Anderson is that, no matter what, he will never put a team on the court that just flat out sucks. I really hope he can make a tournament run in the next couple of years though, because if he doesn't he won't be here much longer. And I like the dude. He does things the right way, carries himself and his program with a sense of dignity that our football program has lacked for awhile, and is 100% Hog.

I hope this team sees that in their coach and turns things around for his sake. They're capable of beating anyone. Just gotta go out and do it. Every night.

Baseball Season

Speaking of, put me in the camp of wanting to find a coach who can do something like this:

Year 1 -- 5 Seed -- Round of 64
Year 2 -- 2 Seed -- Elite 8
Year 3 -- 6 Seed -- Round of 32
Year 4 -- 5 Seed -- Round of 64
Year 5 -- 2 Seed -- Round of 32
Year 6 -- 11 Seed -- Round of 64
Year 7 -- 7 Seed -- Final Four
Year 8 -- 4 Seed -- Sweet 16
Year 9 -- 6 Seed -- Round of 32
Year 10 -- 5 Seed -- Final Four
Year 11 -- 5 Seed -- Round of 32
Year 12 -- 8 Seed -- Round of 32
Year 13 -- 6 Seed -- Elite 8
Year 14 -- Missed postseason
Year 15 -- 3 Seed -- Round of 32
Year 16 -- 2 Seed -- NCAA Runner Up

A coach who recruits at an elite level, hires good assistants, and adapts to the evolving game.
