Hah - are you serious? If it’s not game day on the heels of receiving a beat down loss only sunshine and rainbows are welcome over there.

Just pointing out the obvious - without recruiting in the upper half of the conference what’s a reasonable expectation?
So start bumping the payroll and bring in some guys who will recruit to win.

Is this a good hire? It seems like their defense improved in D-line centric categories under him.

Seems decent. He at least has some DFW, Oklahoma and JUCO connections in recruiting which makes up for the loss of Rhoades and Cooper a bit.

not trying to be a downer here...

But...

Appears to be a major youth movement in our program with coaches. But very little major experience or recruiting prowess...

Appears very clear he wants youth, hunger among these new hires over lazy recruiters with years of experience and numerous stops.

Also glad it wasn't Brick Haley as many on other boards and social sites wanted.

I give LSU fans credit for one thing - they know recruiting and performance of those coaches.

With our experience having Chavis and Cooper along with the lazy recruiter they view Haley it's good he's not at Arkansas if he was lazy at a place like LSU with built-in advantages (location and proximity to talent and evaluation).

agreed...Seems Pittman knows this as well.

Going with passionate youth with something to prove/ over older settled names.

Isn't that what Broyles and Holtz did here?

Since then it's been staffs of retreads and yes men.

I've been thinking on this a lot. I wonder if the budget shortfall due to covid has anything to do with the youth movement.... theoretically you can get younger coaches cheaper..... just a thought.

Ah yes Covid.

Wouldn't have anything to do with the millions we've been paying Bert and Chaggie for nothing.

Well, let us be honest here, older settled names who were worth a darn wouldn't come here unless we dumped a truck of money on their front lawn.

We have to get young and hungry coaches to come here because while the opportunity to do really well is here it is not like we are saying "Yes, yes, we made the CFP the last 4 years."

Damn, that dudr looks 23.

I hope to hell this youth experiment works. Looks alot to me like these guys would be assistants to the positions coaches at most places.

Hope I'm wrong. I just wonder how Pittman can guage someone's recruiting prowess if he's never worked with them before. It seems he kind of got burned on his first hires in that way.

I know Sam probably want top 10-15 type recruiting classes, but I'll believe that when I see it.

Odom is an excellent defensive coach but not a great recruiter. It makes sense to balance that out with green guys that will be hungry on the recruiting trail.
