Rion Rhodes is moving to an off-field role and Michael Scherer is being promoted from defensive quality control coach to LB coach.

Wonder if we'll see any more.

quality control coach

How does one become this? I don't care about advancing. Seems like a cush job.

Cooper is gone as well. Sounds like he was let go.

Should have a good chunk of change after al the changes to throw some cash at a proven recruiter for the TE spot I hope.

Chris Gragg just happens to be in Fayetteville today. I wonder if he’s here to interview.

We do not have a single coach ranked in the top 25 SEC recruiters for this past class, or in the Top 100 of CFB overall for that matter.
247 Recruiter Rankings

If we don't have at least two in the Top 25 for the SEC after this next cycle it will be blatantly clear we're not serious about competing anytime soon.

We may have one of the youngest groups of position coaches out there after it's all said and done. Guess Pittman is banking on them being able to relate to kids and recruit well. Feels like we were just playing against Scherer a few years ago lol.

From Bruce Feldman:

SOURCES: Cody Kennedy, Southern Miss’ Offensive Line coach/Run Game Coordinator is expected to become the new tight ends coach at #Arkansas. Kennedy worked with Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman at UGA.

In 2020, Southern Miss averaged 159 yds rushing a game and around 4.3 a carry They also gave up 16 sacks.

I’ll admit I have no idea if this makes him a good TE coach.

Saw this from an article. Dunno about his coaching abilities, but least his recruiting seems up to snuff.

quote:

In his first signing class for the Green Wave, he signed six three-star offensive lineman. Prior to that signing, Tulane did not possess one offensive lineman rated three stars or higher on its then current roster.

He was only at Southern Miss for about a month, he went from being a GA at Georgia under Pittman to being OL coach at Tulane. Southern Miss hired Tulane's OC Will Hall and Hall brought Kennedy with him.

Thought I'd logged onto Lannyville for second there.
