in a perfect world, the government would stay out of race when it comes to affirmative action, etc.
I find it racist that because someone is a certain color, they are graded on the curve regardless what it is for.
And gender as well. Geeze, it doesn't take a rocket surgeon. The Arkansas Supreme Court realized this would cause some problems and recently made it against the law to sue the State Government over such issues... or at least upheld a law stating so.

And they got points for that, not permits. It's to better the chances (the chances!) of having at least one minority owner.
Only when it comes to white men is it acceptable to discriminate. Imagine if they deducted points because the applicant was a woman or minority? All hell would break loose. I’m against discrimination, and if you are too you should be with me on this. But some people believe this false and fricked up notion that all white men owe it to the rest of the world to be discriminated against because a small minority of our ancestors owned slaves and/or discriminated against others.
My father obviously owned no slaves. My father is one of the highest character, kind, giving individuals I’ve ever known. He was born into poverty and made a life for himself through his own hard work and determination. But frick him right since he has a a dick and white skin?
It’s unjust and retarded.

Who are the key people against this in Arkansas?
Is their any legal proceedings against the State?
Seems like they are prolonging this as long as they can.

The people who didn't get awarded are now bringing legal proceedings against the state, because it's fishy as hell how the whole process went down.
This was all predestined, though, when they put the two ballot initiatives up and got the one "good" one struck down because a filthy lawyer (who has had his money grubbing hands all over this in an effort to corporatize pot profits) got the grass roots (haha) ballot initiative tossed on a technicality, thus turning the whole process into a GOBN money grab instead of a deregulation/decriminilization effort.

Former Democrat AG Dustin McDaniel got one
and he’s a white male
He didn't get one. He is a shareholder in a company that got one.
And that company explicitly states that it is 51% minority-owned, because that's what pushed most of these applications over the top.

I had been wondering how McDaniel's group was ranked first out of nearly 100 applications. Anyway, the stench is pretty bad

The rules were bad to begin with, and these groups were just playing by the rules.

These groups probably determined the rules.

Yeah, I took a test back in the 80's for a potential job with the Postal Service. If I had been a female minority I pretty much wouldn't even have to had passed it to get a spot. As it was, I scored an 80 something and didn't get close.
