Jeeze, took long enough.

The top 5 grow facilities awarded licenses today:

Natural State Medicinals

Bold Team LLC

Natural State Wellness Enterprises

Osage Creek Cultivation

Delta Medical Cannabis Co Inc.

They scored the applications giving bonus points for female and minority-ownership, as well as placement in economically challenged areas of the state.

Eh, they'll create a few jobs and won't bother anybody.

The whole minority/women ownership bonus has been SOP for government "contracts" for the past few decades. It's total bullshite and discrimination by definition.

I have no problem with medical marijuana or marijuana in general.

Jackson county has alcohol and meth problem.

Ah. I had to google it to figure out where it is.

It isn't really surprising to see the cultivation applications to be heavy on the "crop counties". Some big farm money down there, and some expertise, I assume.

Yes, I watched the actual meeting on Youtube Live. They granted bonus points to minority or women owned companies, and to those located in specially designated "economic need areas".

Well, I can guarantee anything involving Jefferson county will involve some sort of corruption.

How does this policy not reinforce the bigoted;racist idea that women and minorities are inferior to the white man and need special assistance to accomplish anything of value?

White men are magic, so "equal opportunity" for others means giving them bonus points.

So they discriminated against white men because their skin is white and they have a penis. I swear to god our country is so fricked in the head. I hope they’re sued.

I agree. How long will it be before someone tires to break into one in Pine Bluff?

Have a friend whose proposal wasn't accepted. They'd put quite a bit of money into the whole thing, too. I haven't spoken with he and his wife since, but I imagine they're bummed.

I have a friend who was in the bidding for one. Haven’t talked to him to see if they got it; don’t know the name of his group
