In part the FT disparity is because of our style of trapping defense. We have a lot of late switches that leave a guy wide open and someone trying to hustle over to make a play is more likely to foul.

Mostly its because the refs suck the meat missile in this conference when you are on the road.

Lunardi has us as a 7 versus Providence, matched up against Duke in Charlotte.

Got the W, should lock us into the 7 seed at worse.

Win tomorrow may get us a 6.

I think the dub tonight sealed a 7. I honestly wouldn't mind drawing Duke as the 2. I think we match up as well with them as anyone else we could realistically face in the 2nd round.

First of all,

Secondly, and I'm not getting ahead of myself because I don't have crazy expectations - just for curiosity's sake. As of now we're still a 7 (or according to prognosticators) I do believe. What happens if we win tonight? What about tonight and tomorrow?

I guess, in a nutshell, what's our best possible scenario?

I don't know how realistic a 5 seed is if we win out. I suppose it might be a possibility but I think a 6 might be our ceiling with what we have left.

That said, I just want to see us be remotely competitive against Florida's guards tonight.

You really don't think we'd get a 5 seed if we won the whole damn thing? Would put us at 25-10.

Hopefully Macon shoots better. Would love Texas in Nashville.

All of those 2s are pretty scare, would probably choose Duke because F Duke.

Want no part of Cincy or Michigan.

We would definitely get a 5 seed if we won it, without a doubt. Would be closer to a 4 than a 6 at that.

That's what I was thinking, more like a 4 seed. We'd have likely beaten UF, UT and UK.

I didn't realize we were still only in quarters. I was thinking we'd only have 2 more wins if we won out. I mean if we beat UF, UT, and UK on a neutral floor it would be hard to say otherwise. Dunno about a 4. Not sure if they'd readily throw a fringe 7 seed up to a 4 based off a hot week. You never know with the committee.

But like I said before, lots of stuff to address before that's even a realistic conversation. I just want us to not be arse against Florida.

Pipe dream anyway.

We're not winning the whole thing unless we somehow start playing that first 5 minutes of the second half against SCAR defense for 40 minutes.

Don't see us getting past UF but hope we do, would be nice to get even with them.

? We could have blown it and ended up as an 8-9 had we lost coming into the tournament. We were straddling a 7-8 seed before last night. That's the definition of fringe.

Are you seriously going to sit there and say there was no shot we'd be an 8 seed if we que'd out of this tourney?
