Dillingham would be a great hire, IMO.

He will have his pick of Florida or LSU depending on who lane picks.

Dillingham would change my mind completely. I'd be all in.

Drink rumored for the Penn st job? What a downgrade there. Buyers remorse coming soon to Happy Valley.

Not what the rumor has said for months. It’s been Florida and LSU. Depending which one Kiffin took or did not take. Then the past two weeks with Sam Leavitt leaving Dillingham became an option.

I don't see any plausible scenario that Kenny D comes to Ark....unless the financial package is so astronomical he can't turn it down.

Leavitt will porbbaly be a $4-5M QB next year alone. Dilly would be a $10M/yr coach.

Plus $30M needed annually in Rev share/NIL combo.

Plus a $10M salary pool and full scouting dept.

Thats the kind of offer you'd have to make to. Him... And the problem is, the big fish like LSU or Fla will offer the same if they miss on lane.

If we are actually willing to play big boy ball that's the kind of money it's going to take......

or... we could be looking at say $7ish for Fleck.... 2ish NIL for D. Lindsey.
and the same NIL and salary pool dollars... so you are realistically talking about a difference of 5 mill a year for high level or mid level in the eyes of your people......

And BTW LSU thinks Dilly is their guy if it isn't Lane.

Talk about a delusional fan base.
Those guys actually believe they can go hire anyone.
maybe they can but I don't see it happening.

No he built Arizona St quickly without much NIL support. Dude is begging in press conferences for NIL help. He’s losing his star QB next year because he can’t afford him

He’s supposedly very frustrated all around about the support at ASU.

He’s been my top choice all along just don’t think we can pull it off.

he wins but he’s a dork. We don’t want that. We also don’t want guys like fleck or Campbell who win but are either corny or quiet. We want a loudmouth! We want to win the press conference! Winning be damned! At least that’s what I get from some on here anyway

That is what it sounds like.
At this point I don't care about the press conference or the national perception or any of that crap. I care about W's..... period.
Get me someone who can build roster and win.
Don't really care who it is at this point.

Did we put all our eggs in the James Franklin basket and he didn't like what he saw here?

I don’t see it happening. We supposedly got $$$ aligned for a coach and NIL. No one is donating for this type of hire. You can spin a lot of names but not this one. His record prior to being fired tanked 3 years in a row, he’s been out of coaching for a few years and the lawsuit stuff. Real or not won’t fly.

IMO I’d discredit any announcement of anyone we are currently interviewing; it’s all for show or future networking at this point.

I don’t think so. We had a target prior to him getting fired. We interviewed him but I don’t think there was legit interest from either side.

No, they hadn't spoken to Franklin in over a week. Never was a real candidate beyond an initial touching of bases.

Happens all the time in coaching searches. Creates leverage for both sides. If you’re hearing names in the media it’s leaked on purpose

I don’t know but I’m writing off anyone we’ve interviewed in the past 3-4 weeks or anyone who’s gotten any traction with the local media. The few folks I know that sometimes have visibility have no idea and are guessing like the rest of us.
