I,unfortunately, missed the full view but he definitely hit way out of his league. He must have money or something going for him. I think she’s running for political office now or something.

LSU or Florida might be hiring Kiffin and we're talking about boobs. God I love this site.

Not real sure how accurate this usually is but he’s jumped to the top on Kalshi. I, admittedly, have no clue about this site as I’m not a betting man.

I saw that on X. Maybe we have a shot and will shock the world with Gruden?

I’ll believe it when I see it. It crazy to me how many people want to shite on his potential, IF he were the man, and point to Belichick as an example of why he’d fail. Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn’t. He’s no more a gamble than anyone else but, instead IMO, has more upside than many at least at the jump. I’m just ready for it to be over. I don’t care if it’s Red Beaulieu.

Matt Campbell name being tossed as the dark horse. Current coach, defensive minded. Would prob be as close or a better hire than JF. He’s a better Fleck.

How is a career OL coach with 4 years OC experience defensive minded?

Matt Campbell would be more than home run. Grand slams hire. This a dude who turned down an nfl team before.

Kirk Ferentz has turned down NFL teams.

Other random thoughts is the only bright spot of this season has been beating the brains out of a "good" stAte team in a season Arkansas finishes 2-10 should shut down their "if they played" bs.

Then I remember Campbell struggling to beat the same stAte team a couple weeks later.

Please no Matt Campbell. I’m just now trying to warm up to Eric Morris

what’s your reasoning? He’s also turned down multiple offers to schools bigger than ours (Michigan I think at one time maybe or Notre dame?) and if the coaching changes board is to be believed that’s who Texas would go after if sark were to leave. Matt Campbell is a top 5 coach in the country to anyone who knows ball. Why do you think Josh pate always uses him as an example as to who he would make say no if he were making a coaching hire anywhere in the country. Campbells team play disciplined football, always have great defenses, and don’t beat themselves. All the things we sorely need.

I'll go on record that I have no faith in Hunter to pull off a hire that people are going to care about. I think if Bobby could have pulled off 2 wins and kept the rest close he'd have the job but that seems to be out.

My wishlist

1. Lanning - I was reamed for suggesting he was crazy enough to jump to Arkansas but Ive seen a few acting like it's a possibility...I doubt it but it'd be a home run of course

2. Gruden - yes there's the Belichek risk but Grude is at least young enough that dementia hasn't set in yet and seems to have some legit fire/desire to coach left in him. It'd be a gamble but at worst it would inject some life into the program and get people (recruits) talking about Arkansas again.

3. Sumrall - 40-11 in 2 years at Troy and almost 2 years at Tulane? That's not a huge sample size but that's worth gambling on IMO.

Golesh, Silverfield, Morris -- all gambles that I'm just not completely sold on. Potentially good coaches but Morris for example is 44-33...2 years out of 7 winning 10 wins or more, if he gets another win this year. It's not bad but I feel like Sumrall has a better track record in a shorter amount of time. These guys are young though, and I would take them over a lot of the other options being floated.

Errbody else:

Campbell - feel like his ship has sailed and he'd be mediocre here just like he has been at Iowa st

Fleck - really the same as Campbell. Couldve been a great hire around a decade ago but have floated around in the middle of the pack a little too long to get too excited about.

Odom - 3rd most Arkansas thing we could do...and I think we could do worse, but that would not move the needle at all and making that hire would just be waving the white flag and admitting we are okay with mediocrity from here on.

Orgeron -2nd most Arkansas thing ever...would be worst option on the board IMO

Gus - most Arkansas thing ever

Dabo - absolutely washed. Dude is a great coach but he's not winning at a high rate without pulling a 180 on the NIL/transfer game. It's already caught up and passed him and he doesn't seem interested in catching up.

You don’t have to worry about Odom or Ed O. That’s 100 percent not happening

And I’m not saying it’s Campbell, but he doesn’t have an agent.. so maybe that’s why there’s a lack of leaks?

True but supposedly won’t talk job openings during season. And I’ve wanted him for the past 3-4 searches. He’s had other offers. Would be a little concerned on why he hasn’t take any. Everyone is wired differently but does he get here and wish he was back in Ames for whatever reason. lol

It's more of the established names being thrown around are 10-15 years past their expiration date for exciting hire.

So in that context guys like Morris, Sumrall ,etc have the upside of unknown potential.

The issue is the reality of the administration to jump over guys like the above to hire a Chad Morris or Sam Pittman and then sell spin to try and create excitement.

he went 11-3 in 2024 look people we aren’t getting him so it doesn’t matter but saying you wouldn’t take Campbell is like saying you wouldn’t take Kirby smart. Campbell has won 8 or more games 4 times at Iowa state. The rest of Iowa state football seasons combined they have 4 seasons with 8 wins. Since 1903. He’s won big 12 coach of the year 3 times. Again, what he does there is nothing short of a miracle.
