Could we wave enough money at the Texas DC? No head coaching experience but puts out a good defense. Decent to good OCs are fairly common, good defenses are increasingly rare. Though that guy may want to bid his time at Texas until Sark leaves town under the cover of darkness.

That’s a lot of names.
Franklin would be good for us considering. We’d be back to middle of the pack SEC pretty quick.
Gruden is a pipe dream.
Golesh will be called elsewhere first I think.
Fleck is most likely imo. He’s a “meh” hire to me. Will get us back to respectable probably but will never get us over the hump and solidly into the top tier of the SEC. Row your boat and all.
Dilly is probably the best coach listed. Just don’t have confidence we can get him with all the other openings. I’d be cautiously excited if we did though. He’s a wildcard, which we need.

Franklin is reportedly in contract talks with VT.

Don't see the obsession with Gruden. His offense is outdated and he hasn't really done much in 20 years

I *assume he would modernize with all the film he studies but I would guess if he did interview that would be discussed.

Fleck would be jimbo level bad. He can’t win in the big 10 at a mediocre school like Minnesota what makes anyone think he’ll come to the sec and drag us from the bottom? Right now we’re the 15th ranked team in the league in all honesty. The only team worse is Kentucky (maybe).

I think that makes a lot of sense for him.

A once proud program that has fallen off in recent years.
He would definitely get them back to being a conference contender. If he is able to do that he would get into playoffs.
But his record against top 10 opponents is extremely underwhelming. That's why I don't think he would be a good fit here.

Everyones record vs top 10 is bad

Fleck is a sleeper. Minnesota is like the Miss St of the big 10 terrible resources and facilities but he’s done well. Only 11 win season is their history belongs to Fleck.

Yeah and Bert was a home run from the same region. Bottom line is Iowa and Nebraska are both 6-2 this year and I think Arkansas could beat either team by 20. The big 10 is dogshit outside of maybe 3 teams.

Arkansas couldn't beat Memphis!
Had all they wanted from UAB and LA Tech last year...lol

We can beat nobody since we dont bother fielding a defense

What I’ve noticed the last 4 weeks:
- Petrino seems more comfortable/ engaging with media or coaches shows than his previous tenure. Could be for show but I think he’s changed his personality some.
- Still a hardass on the field
- he’s knows what it takes to build a program. His lack of having a good defense is overblown.
- lastly he’s still an elite level play caller. A lot of our miscues have been poor execution or talent. IMO he’s a guy who done more with less when you look at the talent we’ve had.
Frankly one of my only concerns with him is will he go out and get a highly rated QB or will he try to find a diamond in the rough. Sometimes feels like to wants to find an under the radar QB and turn them into something no one else expected as a way of flexing his ability to develop QB’s.

I would pick Memphis to win 10 games In the big 10 that’s my point

Not a Big 10 guy at all but them adding Oregon and USC helped close the gap a lot. Them along with Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State is traditionally a really good top of the league before you even get to Wisconsin and the like.
