I stated way back in this thread, Silverfield and Wommack might be good hires but not exciting and that’s what the fanbase wanted/needed. I get the pushback

I’d be much happier with Wommack than this turd of a hire

HYs resume while here:

Hired Chad
Hired a career Oline Coach
Gave Oline Coach a raise with a large buyout
Held onto Oline Coach too long
FOUGHT NIL
Fired Oline Coach early to get jump on coaching search
Settled for Memphis Coach

Why do you think Morris will be so bad? His offense is really good and he’s a qb whisperer. He had 2 mediocre seasons at north texas but it’s north texas. Then he won 11 games. Much better than anything Morris ever did

What if he retains BP as his offensive coordinator? Could there still be hope? And a fat NIL.

Wommack is an unknown. Not ideal but could be spun.

Why is Silverfield a good hire? What did he do at Memphis?

I’ll give him credit for rebuilding his roster last year with a ton of transfers. He isn’t an offense guy, nor defense guy. Sounds like we just hired a younger Pittman.

Literally the only thing he could do at this point to make this palatable.

Not an offensive guy.
Not a defensive guy.

Just a guy. Excellent.

I should’ve applied.

BP probably wouldn’t do that but why would we be okay with it? We lit everyone up in the first half this season only for time and time again, to score zero or three points in the second half.

Prior to this announcement I was of the opinion that we needed a full house cleaning inside the football program…even though the hire wasn’t a popular pick, I still believe that.

In the SEC, every AD is hired to win football games. We are something like 40-69 since HY was hired. We either need a new AD, or we need to get ourselves to a conference where our level of football is acceptable.

A full house cleaning means canning HY and getting an AD with a clue.

Should’ve just kept Pittman amd saved some cash. Silverfish would still be available.

I'd disagree on that. 0-8 and 2 years of a mobile QB who makes bad decisions, that Bobby kinda hitched his wagon to, just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Sick of the mobile QBs that can't make their reads. Give me some BA types back, please.

Clean the whole house-players, coaches, and AD. Make a competent AD hire and let them do their thing and when we manage an 8 win season I might start tuning in again.

My fall Saturdays are open until then.

I don't believe for a second that Golesh decided not to be our coach because of the media leak. That is a completely lame excuse considering that it is damn near impossible keep much under wraps these days with social media.

Golesh just didn't want to be here and another offer came along. Which the Auburn offer is better and for sure a better football program, no brainer there. Despite having many weeks to have a plan A, B, C, and D...HY managed to somehow frick it all up.

I don't blame Silverfield at all. He wanted the job and got it. This falls squarely on our AD.

Other site reporting HY insisted on ridiculous buyout reduction language and a ridiculous clause about not coaching another SEC team for X years.

Language no other schools try to include in this environment.

All the hoopla to hire an O-line coach.

Outstanding. His wife is a lobbyist, maybe she can lobby us some good coordinators and a huge NIL. So what outstanding coordinators does the underachieving O-line man bring with him?

What has he done to make anyone think he’ll succeed here?

Why not have a lottery to be head coach? Use profits for NIL and assistants.

So, Yurachek tells BMFP thanks but no thanks. Then, proceeds to hire Ryan fricking Silverfield. Are you shitting me?
