Wonder if Wess likes Campbell’s soup

That would be my first thought on the mystery P4 coach, but we also had reports that Campbell had already met with Scanlon/Yurachek. Marcello is saying this guy won't interview until after.

If HY effectively played a source to put heat on Golesh and keep smoke off Campbell (we had two or three straight days of us putting out smoke on him) then that is brilliant. But I can think of 6-7 different reasons why I don’t think Hunter is that smart.

I for one would not be mad if Golesh ended up being something like the Chris Beard distraction prior to Cal being hired and we ended up with Cambell.

It is odd that Wess’s source was seemingly wrong, which does smell fishy atm. Nice having Campbell as a ‘backup’ lol

Wess also said that Morris was slow playing Okie State waiting to see if we offered, which we never did.

Maybe we're putting together the dream team staff

HC - Campbell
OC- Petrino
DC - Womack
TE coach- Golesh
O-line - Mateos
GM- Gruden

Golesh does nothing for me. He had by far the most talent in the AAC and still couldn't get it done.

I would take Petrino over any of the names being mentioned except Campbell and I'm not a big fan of the Petrino I saw this year at all.

What has shown you this year that makes you think he would be a good fit going forward?

This makes no sense. Petrino would be the cheapest option by far.

I'm just a poor from Central Arkansas. I was informed many years ago that my money wasn't needed since we were moving games to NWA where all the rich boosters are so we could become a serious program again.

Has the situation changed?

With Golesh I don’t see a way for Petrino to stick around
With Campbell I could see in theory Petrino staying as the OC

Of course several seem to believe he wouldn’t stick around regardless, unless it was as HC

The timing of the "announcement" happening essentially at the same time as Bobby's farewell letter makes it very difficult for me to believe the deal isn't basically done. Otherwise, that's a hell of a coincidence.

Conspiracy theory

Bobby is Frank Fletchers boy.

Trey Schapp works for the station that Frank advertises in heavily.

Franks pissed and calling out boosters because Bobby is out.

Frank drops a tip to Schapp to try and blow up the deal

Appreciate you doing that, probably opened up some good seats for me. Just a guy from south Arkansas who enjoys not having to go to a dump of a football stadium in a trashy town

Yes. I love a good comeback redemption story, but Bobby had his chances. Ms State, Auburn, LSU, Texas, aggy, he didn't have to win them all, he needed win more than 0.

The bar was extremely low to setup the big time DC and NIL angle for next year, but he still tripped and face planted. Hunter tried to sell the Lunney JR as HC with an 0-2 record, but 0-7 is an even harder sell. I don't give a shite about 21-5, that was 15 years ago. No one playing college football was old enough to remember it nowadays.
