Arkansas would love to win a title in the three big spots in this century. Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas A&M have not done so this century.

Baseball, basketball, and football finished top 20 respectively, with basketball and baseball having top 10 finishes. We're predicted to win 8 or 9 games again in football, and basketball will be preseason top 10 with the most talented roster we've had since Nolan. Baseball has gone to Omaha 3 of the last 4 NCAA tourneys, and looks to keep reloading.

Call me a sunshine pumper, but we are sitting pretty in the "big 3" (we are also amazing at many other sports).

It truly is an incredible time to be a Hog fan. We lose sight of that because of not having any championships to speak of recently. Yet we are ultra competitive in football, baseball, basketball, perhaps women's basketball in time? Softball,

We need to fix our track and field problems...

Except for 1994, this is the best multiyear stretch for Razorbacks sports in my lifetime.

The football team is top 25. The men's basketball team is top 10. The baseball and softball teams are top 5. The women's basketball team is top 25-ish.

And those things look to continue.

But ...

A national title in something sure would feel good.

For me on a personal level, there certainly is. But, realistically, you're right on the national level.

Just look at last year's women's college world series viewership vs men's.

They put the WCWS games on ESPN and put the CWS games on other ESPN channels.

Yeah I was gonna say, now post the marketing budget for each.

Those numbers keep creeping closer together despite them doing next to nothing to promote college baseball.

I know that's the narrative, but if this link is accurate, 7 of the CWS games were on ESPN and 12 were on ESPN or ESPN 2. Regardless, the most viewed single game statistic tells you all you need to know.

I do feel like college baseball is growing quickly though and will end up overtaking softball soon

In TV viewership or overall popularity?

Viewership. For comparison, our regular season win over Auburn in basketball was on ESPN2 and drew just under 2 million viewers.

Overall popularity is tough to quantify, but I'd say college baseball still has the advantage there if you look at attendance numbers (although the size of stadiums has to be taken into account). With softball games being shorter and faster paced, it just seems it fits in the with modern day attention span of the average person off the street more so than baseball.

Hearing from an Ole Miss fan (after they won their title) that we’ve got nothing to complain about in the big 3 compared to themselves and a lot of other schools sort of helped. Either way, we’re on to football now and we’ll see how baseball goes next year, I guess.

Elite 8 in baskeball is NOT better than a natty in baseball. Who care about TV viewership? A natty is great in any of the Big 3 sports.

Your opinion I guess, but it's wrong.

Well everybody has their personal preference. But if you wanted an objective measure of importance then viewership then viewership is not a bad indicator. Guess we could look at financials too.

Losing a college baseball natty is kind of like the tree that fell in the forest. The pop fly dropped but nobody knows if it made a sound

On a personal level there is no way in hell I’d trade beating the #1 overall seed in the sweet 16 for a baseball natty. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way

It’s Wednesday and the Rant has pretty much already stopped talking about the Ole Miss title. No chance that would be the case for a football or basketball title. I personally want one in the worst way but in no world is it on the same level as the other two.
