Higher winning percentage across 30 years is actually more impressive. Tells you how good of a coach he is to maintain high level success for 30 years and still going strong.

Sampson: Head coach for 30 seasons: 15 NCAA appearances (.500)

5 of those seasons were at an NAIA school and it was impossible to make the NCAA.

Then the next 8 were at fricking Washington State, where no coach has ever been able to win. So yeah, just looking at Oklahoma, Indiana, and Houston I'll take Sampson.

Maybe youll get him.

Sampson is still 63 years old and has made the 1 time in 30 years. Hope he coaches until he's 93 so we can make the Final Four again.

No but I haven't flipped on it like you. You said Beard and Sampson weren't coming and now you have changed to just being negative about Sampson

Some coaches get better at their jobs the longer they do them. Sampson appears to get better as he goes.

Also, I think his age works to our benefit y'all. This dude clearly remembers how strong Arkansas was under Sutton and Nolan. He knows full well what the expectations will be.

If he is confident in himself to meet those expectations, he's the guy I want.

Good for Arkansas. His thought of the head coaching position at the UofA is light years ahead of someone younger and he likely holds it in a higher regard.

If he can replicate what he did at Oklahoma, Indiana, and Houston in regards to how his teams performed, Arkansas will be a respected top 25 annually team. Anything after that in the tourney is a crap shoot depending on matchups.

Again, 5 seasons of his were at an NAIA school where he won conference titles every year. Then he moved on to Wazzu and elevated that program. For you to even attempt to use those collective years against him is quite stupid.

Carry on though, you don’t deserve any further responses from anyone on this board any longer.

Never said he was bad (he's definitely better than Mike)

Just saying that there are way better options out there, including Buzz.

Wait I just noticed....do you really have 19 thousand posts in 4 years??

You need a girlfriend bud. Or maybe a boyfriend. Not that there's anything wrong with that

Sampson has a better resume than Buzz, sorry.

In 12 seasons Buzz has only 3 seasons of less than 10 losses. Sampson has 13 seasons of less than double digit losses and also has two 30 win seasons on his resume. The closest Buzz has come to 30 wins is 27 wins at Marquette in 2011-12.

Sampson has 12 total conference titles, while Buzz has only 2 to his resume.

Buzz has lost at least 10 games in 9 of his 12 seasons as a head coach. It is also likely that Buzz was about to be forced out at Marquette before he took the Va Tech job.

And Buzz has been at VaTech (didnt even know they still had basketball) 5 years, been to the NCAAT 3 times and Sweet 16 this year, and was a layup away from beating Duke and being in the E8.

And the ACC is much better top to bottom than the SEC this year and its not really close.

Yet your main arguing point with Sampson includes years of him being at a terrible program and him getting to the tourney.

Quit moving the goal posts.

Did you know Wazzu, OU, and Houston still had basketball programs before Sampson?

CFB's logic means Kelvin is three times the coach as Buzz.
