What if anything on this staff proves the they can develop talent
6-6 or 4-8 is what you're looking at next season.

Yeah, it's the types of issues he's having that shifted the narrative. Not just that he's losing.
They're struggling with roster decisions at key positions. Players largely aren't getting better after being on campus multiple years. The 4th down playcalling has gotten absurdly bad. Extremely questionable clock management. Coming out completely unprepared against teams that aren't "big" games. The first half of the Auburn game was literally reaching Chad Morris levels of bad. It's all stuff that points to coaching rather than inferior talent.
I've said it before but I'll repeat it here, I love Sam Pittman. The last thing I want to be doing is sitting here calling him out like this, but he can't avoid the blame for a lot of this now that we're 3 years in. We flat out do not look like a well-coached football team this year.

We’ve lost 2 games without our starting qb, our secondary got decimated in the first couple of games and we brought in guys from the portal who had to learn the system.
Though the portal has been good to us it’s a quick fix that’s gone the next year most times. No continuity, no upper class leadership. Hopefully we won’t have to depend so much on the portal in the future. It’s been great in basketball though………even though I don’t know who most of the players are…haha.

Even if you discount Sam’s first class, he has second year guys that should be contributing. Malik should at least be a serviceable quarterback, or should have been moved somewhere to contribute. If anything our offensive line has regressed. We didn’t even play hard against Liberty. I never thought I’d see that with Sam. I love the guy, but I’m not seeing improvement anywhere on the field. Ironically, the only place I am seeing improvement is on defense, and the people not calling for Briles head are calling for Odom’s.

I guess all I expect from a multimillion dollar OC and staff is a QB with the ability to run a read option. You know, the play literally every school seems capable of running but us? Cade Fortin is the only QB we have that can read a DE and make the right decision to pull it or hand the ball off
Other two guys predetermine then use speed or strength to get out of their shitty decisions. Every team knows it and has been able to limit our running game to true handoffs

Pretty much, but this all comes down to recruiting. And the only true recruit would be Fortin as a transfer.
Malik was a get what you can in the last month.
KJ was already here.
The ones he did recruit have transferred out, because I assume they know Sam is loyal and KJ is the starter until he leaves.

This is the biggest indictment on Pittman this year. By and large this team doesn’t play hard and has a penchant for sleepwalking into games and disrespecting opponents, dating back to Missouri State game. That’s a complete 180 from last year when the team played hard for 60 minutes every week, and in hindsight that toughness and focus of the 2021 teams was probably more attributed to the COVID seniors than Pittman.

Odom has been dealt a shite hand with injuries and portal defections and he still has the defense playing above their heads. There's not much he can do when we have an OC who refuses to game plan and thus spends the first 3 to 4 drives playing frick-around thus leaving our D hanging.
Dumbasses on here were mouthbreathing at halftime of the Liberty game about Odom's D giving up 21, nevermind the fact that they forced a punt on Liberty's first 3 drives yet our offense left them in a lurch by going punt, punt, punt, punt, turnover on downs, punt, interception in the first half. But yeah, let's blame Odom.

I just don’t understand why briles is refusing to throw the ball. That wasn’t his MO when he’s been anywhere else before us, and even last year we had the threat of pass. Hell he let kj sling it around his very first year when he started for franks against Missouri. But all of a sudden this year it’s like someone forgot the forward pass was allowed in football. Either our receivers really suck or kj has been hurt and so he’s afraid to throw. Or the coaches won’t call pass plays trying to protect him. Also the oline play has been suspect at best sometimes this year and idgaf what pff grades them out at.

So this team should have won more games this year but looking at a losing season instead.
It wouldn't be near as bad had Sam not lost the Liberty game. That is when the wheels really began to fall off this year.
I have seen it not just here but other power 5 programs that when they lose to G5 teams more often than not they have bad seasons. Usually coaches don't last long.

Quite literally my exact thoughts word for word.

Well, the past three years continuity on the staff has been a major focus of concern, it is time to shake things up a bit.
