I can’t get too mad at Bert about Hammonds today

Oh, I can.
Hammonds is a home run threat every time he touches the ball.

The only player on this team capable of reeling off an 80 yard run
To say he has no vision is absurd. He isn't being put into good positions.

And opposing defenses have keyed on him when he comes in the game.

That only means you give him MORE snaps and not less. But you use him as a decoy.

Nothing works if the other team knows what you're gonna do based on personnel packages. This is the SEC.

TJ Hammonds epitomizes everything that is wrong with this staff.

Meh...he tiptoed today.

If you want to be mad at something...do it for not giving Williams 10 more carries

I'm mad about that ridiculous 4th and 1 call.

The only reason Hammonds is "tiptoeing" is because he knows damn well by now that if he doesn't go to the endzone he will ride pine the rest of the day.

These coaches are retarded.

Hammonds missed wide open running lanes twice, so wide even I could run through them... He has tremendous talent, but he didn't have it in him today.

This.

Williams has been our best downhill back all season long, but we always seem to go away from him when he gets hot in order to give Whaley a shot.

Williams should have gotten the carry on 3rd down on the final drive instead of going with a ridiculous East/West wildcat play.

Eh. Maybe you guys are right. Maybe we shouldn't give the best YPC back we have seen since Felix Jones any carries.

Either way, the point of the thread is that the playcalling today was beyond ridiculous.

As if these coaches are actually retarded.

No one is throwing shade at Hammonds as a player or defending Bert’s near refusal to play him this season. All we’re talking about is the fact that he played like shite today.

3 carries (I only remember 1) isn't a large enough sample size to determine a running back played like shite.

Sorry, that just isn't how it works.

Like, if I'm a basketball player and I'm a 3 point shooting specialist, and I get in the game and miss my first three shots. You don't get benched for that shite. You keep shooting. Because the numbers average out.

It's even more ridiculous considering our coach calls himself an "analytical coach". A self proclaimed "professional level blackjack player."

He should know better than anyone that you give the guy averaging 11 YPC about 20 carries per game.

It's the same goddamn reason he has, for 5 years now, instructed his kicker to try and kick kickoffs to the 1 yard line at the corner instead of doing what every other coach in the country does and drive it out of the end zone.

He plays number games. Except for when it actually matters.

Hammomds deserves being in the rotation...not just getting one play here and there.

When you only put him in to run the sweep it becomes pretty easy to scheme against him.

It's almost like our coaches expect other teams to be as inept at adjustments as they are.

It’s painful watching other teams and coaches be so much better at adjustments.

Auburn led La. Monroe 14-7 at halftime and played a sloppy first half. They promptly came out and scored 28 in the second half and won 42-14. That’s not an argument for Gus, but by comparison we would’ve played turtle and shrunk into our shell preparing for a loss.

I’ve never seen a football team or coaching staff play so scared and fold like a cheap tent at the first sign of adversity in all my life. And this isn’t something that started last year. It’s been a constant throughout Bert’s tenure here, and we saw it in year one against Rutgers, Mississippi State and LSU.

Bielema was never able to change the losing culture that began here with John L. Smith. Our team has had a quitters mentality for six years now.

Ding ding. This staff didn't want to prolong the misery. Had we made a bowl, they're just delaying the inevitable. If they wanted to actually win the game, they punt in that situation. But no, they pretty much said "frick it" and didn't even try to win. Enos wants out so bad.

If he wants out bad enough to sabotage his chances of winning it's because, as I suspect, Bielema is a fricking a-hole.

Bielema hasn't been able to keep any assistants around. Ever. He likes to blame it on money or whatever, but it's clear the problem is him. He's the guy that shite talks opposing coaches as a player. The guy that humiliates his own players for being late to breakfast while he sleeps through team meetings. The guy that hamstrings his coordinators. The guy that throws players under the bus when he can't get shite done.

He is a fricking clown and anyone paying close enough attention can see it easily.
