I'm glad we didn't pay that. Come March, you need vets for a run.

NIL didn't exist then, if you needed or wanted money that was their only option. JWill had first round mocks as well so it made sense as he had a shot to sneak into the late first.
Knox isn't even mocked to get drafted anywhere, DraftNet, DraftRoom, SI two round mocks he is not listed. DraftNet however has him #29 for 2026.
In fact, Draft Room did a recent 150 player mock/ranking and Knox wasn't even on it. Wagner was #79, Davis #83, Brazile #90 and Aidoo #143.

Nor would I. As I've said before, he's one of my all time favorites. You could tell he love playing here and appreciated the opportunity. He gave it 100% whenever he got a chance and won us several games each season with his effort. He had a knack for giving us a kick start and throwing the other teams out of their rhythm. Wish he had another year.

Agreed, you need that "glue" guy that want's to be a Hog and understands his role is energy and effort, not necessarily scoring.

Im fairly confident hell come back if for no other reason his brother declared too early and needed to come back

Need physically ready players as well, which Ament is not. And likely won't be for next season.

I agree.... would have loved to have had Ament on campus but he wasn't a "must get".
Still think we need one more guy, specifically a bruiser 4 or a shooter, but assuming Knox is back I like this team a lot.

Cal says he expects him to be a 1st round draft pick.
Now days if you ain't first round you can make more in college than an 2nd Rounder.
Somebody will pay him 3 mil a year.
Baylor Scheierman 30th pick deal with the Celtics was worth 2.5 mil per year.

Most mocks have him late first he is staying in the draft. Today was last day to enter portal.

It’s smart to have a safety net to fall back on just in case. This doesn’t have any impact on our program. He was gone already and has been replaced nicely. I’m not mad about it.
