quote:RPI is sitting at 56 right now. That series win over State is doing a lot of heavy lifting.
To your point earlier this week, this team’s floor is not above missing the tournament entirely.
Alabama is a *very* good team. Leave that series sitting at 5-10 in conference and we’re in a hole we may not be able to get out of.
Somehow we're still better off than LSU. They're gonna be joining us on the couch in June at this rate.

I think Tennessee is actually who everyone thinks we are.
They’re the “more talented and better than their record” team that everyone seems to ascribe to us. They’ve legit caught some tough breaks, and are probably a 2/3 seed who ultimately makes noise in someone’s regional.
Conversely, I think we’re legitimately not a good baseball team all the way around.

I'm not sure this team can turn the corner. It is not like we have a strong point to hang our hat on this season.

Hitting and pitching would need to have a major turnaround in the back end of the schedule.
Not sure we have an answer for a Sunday guy between Eaves, Coil and McElvain.
Baseball is a funny sport and anything can happen

LSU had the #1 HS class and #1 portal class and are worse than we are.

Missouri just won their series at #24 Kentucky. Could you imagine if we really didn't win another series? Surely no way but damn...

Hopefully not that bad. But this is why it’s really easy to criticize DVH for not capitalizing in the past when we had our chances to “sweep the leg”. A season like this is bound to come up every once in a while no matter what our recruiting looked like on paper. Of course, it goes beyond just DVH. Still seeing the same stupid approach at the plate…

Wiggins is set to come back per DVH.
Maybe that will give us another closer out of the pen if he can locate.

Just hoping we don't lose to another instate school today.

If we do, I'm done this season.

Losing Ruiz until May sucks. He's been the only transfer worth a damn offensively.

Aloy doesn’t need to be higher than 9th in the order until he fixes his swing.
On the telecast just now when he was at bat, Eklund was talking about how he’s been hitting choppers to third because his swing is messed up, whereas when he’s right he can hit the ball to RCF well.
Right on cue as if he was listening, Aloy hits a high chopper a 3rd for a 5-3 putout.

His "swing is messed up" how exactly?

Safe to say Gaeckle isn't the Friday starter...

I haven’t watched much lately but my guess would be front shoulder flying open, pulling everything and rolling over cause he isn’t staying connected. We’ve had several guys the past 6-7 years who couldn’t/ wouldn’t correct this.

Almost like that's a hitting coach issue, huh?
By golly we can study the analytics though... just can't correct a giant hole in swing mechanics.
off topic but same general theme... anyone ever seen Robinette NOT pull a ball?
different but same.....

They seemed to do a pretty good job of fixing Wehiwa's swing. He went from hitting under .300 to winning the golden spikes with a completely rebuilt stance. Sometimes a guy just can't adjust.
