First scrimmage was today. Campbell was dominant. Coby Boulware with a 2B and HR, and Kenley with a HR. Nesbit with a nice 2B. Noland looked good also. Kopps walked the bases loaded in the first inning, but came back with a nice 2nd inning.

I’m so glad to hear the bats are rocking. I’m gonna be honest, I fear for what will happen to some of y’all if we have a poor season in baseball too.

I love baseball so much I'm just happy to have some to watch. I will say it's much better when we're good, though.

I've been going back and watching highlights from a lot of the games last year and it has made me realize just how hard it's going to be to replicate or even resemble last year's performance. We weren't just beating good teams last year. We were consistently pounding them into submission and winning by 5-6 runs. We were so fricking good. Can't wait to see the Kjerstad, Martin, Fletcher core this year.

I think our biggest loss was Koch, not because I don't think we don't have the talent behind him and obviously not because of his offensive production, but because of the rock-solid presence he was as a senior leader in the infield last year. You can really tell how valuable a good catcher is when you watch us play teams that lacked there. He was a defensive anchor. That throw against Tech in the CWS where he lead the glove straight into a tag on the arm of the runner is still one of the best plays of all of last year to me.

Video starts at the throw.

I think last year’s team was the most dominant Arkansas team at home that I’ve ever seen. They were damn near unbeatable at home.

Hoping this year’s team can sneak away with a few road series wins since it’s hard to expect us to win every home series again.

Looking at our schedule, we got pretty lucky. We don't have a series against Florida, Georgia, or South Carolina this year. How the frick that happens is beyond me, but I'll take it.

We earned it after last year. Our schedule was a monster.

DVH talked to the media today - said we will probably go with Kenley at 2B, Nesbit at 3B and Ezell at 1B this weekend.

Not what I was expecting. Also said Noland will get the start Saturday and Sunday could be between Wicklander, Scroggins, Ramage and Kostyshock but he hasn't decided yet.

Probable lineup:

Martin
Kjerstad
Ezell
Fletcher
Goodheart
Nesbit
Opitz
Kenley
Franklin
