Lol, remember when people were begging for Kelley to play last season

After it was obvious that Allen desperately needed time off to heal I was one of them. Overall, sure, Austin Allen was a better QB last year then Kelley.

Kelley, however, had better pocket awareness then AA. With our porous offensive line that was pretty important. Given a solid offensive line I have no doubt that Austin would have done well. We didn't and he didn't, so its all a moot point now.

Austin had good to great pocket presence until his head and everything else was knocked in the dirt too many times. Dude saw ghosts and shadows from then on.

I honestly am worried about his concussion history, his and Tyler Wilsons.

if Kelly gets the timing down he will be the pick easily. with thst said I think it's anyone's gsme based in play now.

rb will be a mix of guys getting plenty of touches to go around

wr- pettaway looked good were gonna need more people to emerge though.

ol- few bright spots here. will be helped by faster developing plays.

dl- looked good but against our oline so who knows.

lb- trying to develop wuality depth so that's refreshing.

db- very good talent everywhere.

should see bowl game next year.

The RB rotation is going to be interesting to watch because they all looked pretty good and you still have Rakeem Boyd to add in this summer. There won’t be enough touches to go around even with how many plays we’ll run.

Lots to consider when turnover happens but RBs get banged and injured frequently which Morris has said as much in pressers.

I know it was later and against scrubs but I thought Lindsey looked decent at QB... he's got some wheels running the zone read.

If we decide to go with a heavy read option attack, which could happen given the small horde of talented RBs we have, I wouldn't be surprised if Kelley or Storey gets passed by a younger QB.

It's hard to tell which QB has the lead because of the weather conditions.

Storey looked more accurate IMO.

The TEs are gonna feast in this offense. When we spread people out they have plenty of room to work in the middle of the field. They will cause major match-up problems.

Connor Noland @cnoland_13
I'm 100% committed to being an Arkansas Razorback! Can't wait to be on campus in Fayetteville very soon with @RazorbackFB & @RazorbackBSB!!! #HammerDown #OmaHogs #WooPig

Think he saw an opportunity watching the SG with JSJ.

Kelley at times made some REALLY good throws on the money into tight coverage, and then would miss a wide open receiver deep by 15 yards. I feel like he can make some plays Storey can't make, but also is more prone to making dumb decisions.

Probably good that we don't start conference play until week 4.

The upside seems to be higher with Kelley but the downside is also high right now. If he settles down and makes better passing decisions he should have the starting job by the first game. We have some very good talent coming in at QB so I expect that both Storey and Kelley are going to have to improve their performance to keep the youngsters at bay.

I'm suspecting Noland in particular to make a case for playing time. Jones could be a surprise.

You think the freshman are gonna be able to come in and learn the playbook in time to compete for the starting job? I mean looking back through history it's normally not a matter of talent with quarterbacks but learning the offense that is the biggest hurdle. Remember guys like jameis Winston Johnny Manziel, Russel Wilson, Andrew luck all had a redshirt season. Only recent guys that come to mind that played and played well as freshman are hurts, darnold, and Mayfield.

I wouldn’t expect it for Game 1 but wouldn’t surprise me if Noland or Jones was starting by October 1st if they understand the offense and are the best option.

These freshman ran a similar offense in high school.

Just because the same play is ran out of 15 different formations doesn't mean its a complicated offense to pick up.

Who do you feel better about c9nnor or Jones? I know Connor was higher rated coming out of high school but we've seen what an easy Texas gunslinger with a chip on their shoulder can do in this type of offense before witj Johnny and baker.

Jake Fromm, Josh Rosen, Christian Hackenberg, James Blackman, Shea Patterson, etc..

It's not ideal to have a true freshman run your offense, but it's not super rare. And our true freshmen don't have to spend time getting the slow as molasses Bielema offense out of their heads.

For me, Noland has the obvious nod because of his prototypical arm strength and size, but I want JSJ to be our scrappy gym rat that surprises everyone and makes the dumb highlight plays that shouldn't work like Mckenzie Milton at UCF.
