NEW: Recruits in the 2027, 2028, and 2029 classes believe in Ryan Silverfield and the culture being established at Arkansas. That includes a key flip target, a prized quarterback, and more recent visitors

“Relationships are a huge part of my recruitment, and Arkansas continues to do a really good job with that. Every time I’m around their coaches and staff, I feel like I get to know them better and they get to know me and my family better."

Just brutal

Remember it is negative talk on the Internet and people not attending games that causes this.

This is also something that gets lost in the shuffle too often. Really hard to compete when your in-state talent is so so bad regardless of who is coach. It is no coincidence that Petrino's best years were when we had a loaded in-state class or two of playmakers and the program thrived off of it. Especially if you don't have the money to outbid for out of state guys. Uphill battle for anyone.

State/Midpoint Average Annual 4-Stars/Approx. Population/Annual 4-Stars Per 1 Million Residents

Mississippi / 9.5 / 2.96 Million / 3.21
Louisiana / 12.5/ 4.62 Million / 2.71
Arkansas / 3.5 / 3.14 Million/ 1.11

Black population

Mississippi = 37.92%
Louisiana = 33.22%
Arkansas = 16.02%

Coincidence?

Especially when your coach, because the AD is worthless, got out and hustled up more money but wasn't allowed to use it.

Yeah and sadly there is nothing you can do to fix it or change it. Pray for a class or two like Petrino got and perfect fit staff etc to get the most out of it. Insane the entire state not only doesn't have a single 4 star, but not even a max 89 3 star on the cusp. Wild.

It is still troubling to see players capable of providing depth and possibly contributing more through development going to other SEC schools instead of Arkansas.

Also a lot of kids today just don’t play football in Arkansas like they used too. We still produce more basketball talent per capita than we should, we still have athletes, they just walk the halls or play shooty hoops.
