I thought that rule was taken out a few years ago.

So what's the objective take on this Teslaa guy? Obviously his film looks amazing, although playing against nobodies. Very solid offer list but not really any offer from the elite programs. Why was he at Hillsdale College? Just and under the radar guy out of high school?

Can’t write off money spend on a government institution for higher learning anymore?

Can’t write off money you spent for “advertisement for your company”?

I asked that, never got an answer. I assume he gained size after high school?

Is he slow? You can’t be that size, quick and got no offers.

Here's what I was able to find:

quote:

“I don’t blame any of the programs that didn’t recruit me in high school – if I was them I wouldn’t have recruited me either,” he says without a hint of irony.

The reason? Well TeSlaa (which thankfully for him is pronounced “TUH-slah” and not “Tesla”) was a 6-4 high school quarterback prospect who barely threw the ball at a small private school running a Wing T offense. His senior season he threw for 448 yards while running for 1,139 yards.

He knew his best opportunity at the next level was as a wide receiver, but he’d never played the position. So when he showed up at camps he had no technical skill or route running experience.

“Getting recruited was extremely difficult because all my tape was at quarterback,” he says. “I didn’t know how to play the receiver position. Coaches would have been taking a chance by offering me just on my athleticism.”

Is that thankful for him though? If he were to get to the NFL someday, the endorsement deal with Tesla would almost write itself, if his name was actually pronounced Tesla.

I know there's a lot of good vibes for ND TE Cane Berrong. He is now following TeSlaa on Twitter.

Hopefully our boosters ceased listening to dipshits like Mike Irwin who openly decried (and keep doing it) NIL as “cheating.”

The sooner the stank of guys like him, Wally, Bob Holt, et al. are fumigated from our state sports media, the better.

Tuesday also saw Arkansas pick up a commitment from Hillsdale College wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa, who caught 68 passes for 1,325 yards and 13 touchdowns at the Division II level this season. He’d drawn offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Nebraska and many others since entering the portal.

Impact receivers are considered a premium talent in this era of college football and schools are turning over every stone possible to find them.

of note:

quote:

Xavier Weaver, WR: South Florida wide receiver transfer Xavier Weaver, who caught 53 passes for 718 yards and 6 TDs this year, has had an interesting recruitment. He looked very close to committing to Arkansas, but things have seemed to cool on both sides. Moving forward I’d watch South Carolina, Colorado and West Virginia for Weaver.

also

quote:

Arland Bruce, WR: Bruce is fresh off an official visit to Fresno State. He also took visits earlier in the cycle to Arkansas and Mississippi State. He was also recently offered by Oklahoma State. The former Iowa signee was a four-star in the 2021 class.

IMO we are done adding transfer WRs for spring ball.

I thought we were done too, but we’ve got Tyrone Broden on campus for a visit.

Getting Broden to visit is big, makes more sense as to why we slowplayed Weaver when rumors he was going to decide a few days ago.

Makes me wonder who else we may have coming in this weekend since it seems our staff is quiet about transfer visits until they’re actually here.

Man having 6'7, 6'5 and 6'4 at WR would be pretty insane

Borden, TesLaa and Armstrong? That would be absurd height at WR. Very reminiscent of those Dan Mullen teams at the end of his tenure at State. It seemed like all their receivers were monsters back then.

Heck, I know he's been to 4 schools already, but go get Arik Gilbert and get a 6'5 5* tight end while your at it.

He wants the ball and leaves everywhere he goes due to lack of PT but there he has unreal talent.
