At first I was thinking it was strange to be going after a D2 kid so hard but he's got a ton of big time offers so he seems to be a late bloomer of sorts.

Is he a measurable dude? If so why didn’t he get bigger offers out of HS? I don’t get the world of D2/D3/JuCo.

6-3 185.
Usually the D2, D3, JUCO kids either don't have the measurables or the grades.
Example... Fred Perry played LB at SAU and later spent some time in the NFL and CFL. Dude was probably 5-10 at best. Flew under a lot of folks radar simply bc he wasn't SEC sized. Would have probably have been the best LB on campus at Fayetteville at the time.
Wondering if this WR hit a growth spurt or what. Says he was a QB in HS so maybe the move to WR uncovered his talent.

May be already posted, but Jake Roberts (transfer TE from North Texas) is on campus currently. I think he’s another absolute take.

He had zero highlights at WR in high school from what I looked up so I'll bet he just switched positions and all of a sudden was amazing at it. Crazy how that happens sometimes.

holy shite Jack Ruby
he's got two more years if he wants them
if he graduated and is moving on with life, then okay, that's his decision, but when are you going to stop posting absolute shite?

D3 is nowhere in the same universe as D2 and Juco

Correct. I should have addressed each differently. JUCO is for development. Whether that be academically or athletically.
D2 is USUALLY the guys that either flew under the radar or just don't quite have the D1 measurables (sometimes grades as well).
D3 is typically the guys that don't want to give up on the dream of playing college ball. No scholarships, just walk-ons who aren't ready to put the pads away yet. Occasionally you may see a kid get a chance from D3 but it's pretty long odds. Currently there are 6 NFL players that played in Division 3 and About 50 that played D2.

So what's the deal with Grier? Reportedly committed but didn't sign (despite tweet from the UA). Reportedly reopened his recruitment this week, but he's still showing up in articles projecting 2023's roster (Fayette Villains included him yesterday).
Is he on the roster or not?

I don’t think anyone is sure. He signed with us in the way that all transfers do. It’s just financial aid stuff, nothing binding.
But he is on campus for a visit right now.

Grier apparently opened his recruitment. What a strange situation
Now sounding like Grier is solid to the Hogs after his visit and going to the basketball game last night

He signed financial aid packages with both Arkansas and UCF so he was back to deciding between the two schools prior to this visit. Vibes seem good so far. I’m not really sure how you could see our facilities and the atmosphere in Bud last night and voluntarily go to UCF afterwards.

Not to mention we just hired UCF’s DC.

Former Baylor cornerback Lorando Johnson has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Johnson, 6-0, 193, went public with his decision at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, a day after wrapping up an official visit in Fayetteville. The Lancaster (Texas) native is expected to enroll at Arkansas later this month.
Johnson will have three years of eligibility remaining. Arkansas is also hosting Johnson's former teammate in safety Alfahiym Walcott, who wraps up his visit later today.
In addition to Johnson, Arkansas also has transfer commitments from quarterback Jacolby Criswell (North Carolina), wide receiver Andrew Armstrong (Texas A&M-Commerce), offensive lineman Joshua Braun (Florida), outside linebacker John Morgan (Pittsburgh), and linebacker Antonio Grier (South Florida).
The Hogs are hosting several targets this week as the NCAA allows a 5-day visit period for transfers who plan to enroll at their next destination in January. In addition to Johnson, Arkansas' first group of visitors on Wednesday included Grier, Oregon wide receiver Dont'e Thornton, Hillsdale College wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa. More transfers are expected to visit the Hogs in the coming days.

From Lorando’s 247 profile: “Play speed is adequate, but testing numbers have underwhelmed (4.71 40, 4.40 shuttle as a junior).”
If you can play you can play, but a 4.7 CB against the passing offenses and WR’s we face could get dicey fast.

Though he didn’t play corner, I’m fairly certain Blair ran a the equivalent of a 5.5 40.
All too often, as the ball was snapped he was not looking at his man or the LOS and frantically motioning to the defense, causing him to be flat footed off the line. In the Liberty Bowl I even saw a few defenders (Brini for one) waive him off as if to say “bro I got it.”

It's an evaluation from 2018. Possible he has improved those numbers some since then.
