I'm not using possible returnees. We've seen this like last year where we hoped and it made sense for guys like Justin Smith to return and none did.
If and when they announce returning can include them.
Hell I've heard Notae may return and it's 50/50.

I don’t want notae to return. TYFYS but there’s no spot for his style on this team and I’m honestly any championship team.

That lineup would make Nolan giddy.

If we get Omier it changes things greatly. He could play the 4 but I don't know what guard as of now is going to play next to Black and Smith who are locked in at the 1 and 2.
Walsh is another forward in that hybrid 4/3 role like Omier, and neither can really shoot from 3 and both are 6'7".
Omier just plays like a freak at 232lbs and was 4th in all of NCAAB at 12.2 boards a game. Obviously at 18ppg he also has a ton of popoff games as I listed above and was a scoring machine too at a 63.2% FG rate.

Also let's not forget we're in the Maui Invitational this year with a pretty loaded group.

outlook for cincy/creighton/texas tech/arizona?

Tech is going to be a thorn in anyone's side as long as they keep that coach and keep getting good upper classmen to transfer there.
A team full of 22 yr olds that play D like that is going to frustrate the hell out of a team loaded with freshmen that early in the season... No matter how talented they are.

Arizona is loaded, another #1 seed PAC title coming. Return Koloko their 7'1" insane center, he is only projected mid 2nd round, and Dalen Terry as well. Both projected first round for '23.
They lose their best player Bennedict Mathurin projected top 5 pick and that's it. Return the other 4/5 starters and top couple bench guys like Pelle Larsson.
Tech loses their entire team but no idea on covid years and who may actually return. Obanor, Arms, Santos-Silva, Williams were all grad transfer seniors.

Not true. You always need a guy who can fill it up. Really good defender as well. He could be really good if we didn't need him to be a hero on offense

We were up by late in the Gonzaga game and just made a defensive stop looking to blow the game open. Instead JD came down and just lost the ball. Gonzaga scores. JD comes down and throws the ball away again. Gonzaga scores. Then he comes down and bricks a 40 foot 3.
Game ended up way closer than it should have been.

He also dropped 30 on Kentucky and led the league in steals.

And he was an All-American. We're better with him than without him, but if he does return he's going to have to take a step back from dominating the ball on the offensive side of things.
Hopefully having a true PG in Black would mean JD gets more catch and shoot opportunities with his feet set instead of launching 30ft step back 3's all game. He's just not a consistent enough shooter to be taking those on a regular basis.

Most of that was by design and Muss brought that up throughout the year.
JD isn't getting the same green light that Muss allowed last year if he comes back. As long as we improve our depth at the 4 and 5 spot, it would be silly not to want him back.

2 spots we need to clear at the moment. Add in one more transfer and that makes 3.
Also,
When it comes to Fardaws and Omier
Also rumors out there they have offered JD some pretty serious NIL money to stay for next year.

Hearing Aimaq is our's once he goes through the draft process.

My guess is Connor Kamani and whichever robinson has progressed the least

I remember the Devo transfer rumor mill was going hot around mid-season. I wonder if there was any truth to that.

I love Devo. I don’t want to lose him
