Not to even mention how abysmal he's been at USC. His entire first team there transferred out and they all basically said they hated him. Many of theirs fans wanted him canned this season, if he misses tourney again he's fired.

Thompson will commit and reclassify to 2026. 5* PG dubbed the Meleek replacement. Hogs with a good lead with a week to go.

The Link Academy (MO) product has put up incredible numbers this spring on the Nike EYBL circuit with his Meanstreets squad, averaging an eye-popping 21.7 points on 52% (!!!) shooting from 3-point range to go with 4.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Thompson is expected to commit and reclassify to 2026 at the school he chooses.

On Monday afternoon, one source familiar with the situation explained that Arkansas was gaining momentum in the fight for Thompson but it was far from a finished deal. Then, a short time later, it was confirmed the Calipari flew down to Mexico to watch as Thompson played for Team USA in its FIBA U18 AmeriCup matchup against Argentina.

Following the game, a source followed up and confirmed that Calipari was the only coach in attendance to watch Thompson and added that it's hard to not like where the Razorbacks sit currently, just eight days out from decision time.

Also, I think the big man thing is quite overblown. Bowser is 6'11" and Muurinen is 7'. How is that not having a big?

If those are the two we are riding with when we play Florida next season, we will get beat worse than when we played Florida this last year.

It’s probably fair to say that playing for a NC is a secondary goal for Coach Calipari….and I’m ok with that. Primary goal is recruiting and developing the best guards in the country to get them highly drafted by the NBA. If the NC gets in the way and we flush it….fine. If not….he’ll do the same again the following year. We use leftover dollars on bigs. First money goes to guards. Just how it is. We will always be incredibly exciting to watch and will always have trouble with big uglies who bully us in the lane.

I think all of this is right but I don’t like it. We have the resources and the backing to be Elite if we want to be.

Disagreement is fine guys. It at least shows that we all care about the program.

Hopefully Cal will take us to the promise land one more time.

The consensus this time last year was Cal missed out on three point shooters and we were going to be terrible at shooting the 3.

This was proven to be false.

This team can compete with center heavy teams by putting more pressure on the ball. What was it Nolan said? "I don't like waiting for their big, slow asses to get down court." Last season, we allowed open passing lanes and comfortable ball handlers. (The poor kid from Vandy a notable exception.) Emphasize defense. <-- Yes, I'm a broken record.

Swapping Acuff a very poor defender for JSJ who is expected to be one of the top defensive freshman in the nation alone is a huge upgrade. Plus first team all SEC defender Richmond back, better overall depth on the roster. And more size/talent down low. Should be a pretty nice jump defensively overall and I don't see much of an offensive fall off. Scary team but that's why we're preseason top 10 right?

I also read that we will play Arizona and Michigan St in Fayetteville in 2027. Cal said he's still trying to find a big home matchup for 2026.

Hope he gets one.

We can hope. But I don't get excited until I see.
