All I hear about are some Euro players. Hopefully we get one that can help and Thomas and Richmond come back. Ewin would be the icing on the cake.

Need a starting 5 from the international ranks. Then would love to get Ewin or Handlogten to compliment if they can get another year of eligibility.

Now that lines up a lot more with his draft stock in the lottery most places.

Abdou Toure SF – Arkansas – HT: 6-6 1/2 – WT: 200 – WING: 6-9 1/2 – C’26 – A high-flying wing who is one of the best above the rim finishers in his class. Is a great cutter and transition player with a developing 3pt shot.

Any chance the Semedo contributes this year? That would help some.

Almost feels like Cal is counting on him to contribute, otherwise surely we would have been more aggressive on portal bigs..... I would think... but heck I have no idea what Cal is thinking at the 5.

Hot take:
JJ Andrews has a shade of Lebron James in him. He’s got the frame/genetics to put on muscle/size to bang on guys & still play as a guard

You're not alone, DraftNet has him #13 for the 2027 draft. They also have Muurinen #22, JSJ is #7.

Ewin being granted another year and Semedo giving him 8-10 minutes a game would be workable.
Odds on Ewin getting the waiver?

It's us, so odds are low.

I mean this in the nicest way possible but did you watch our games against Duke, Florida, and Arizona last year?

Pretty good, he only played 3 years of D1 basketball. His JUCO year counting is bogus and they're changing that rule anyways and have already granted another year many, many times in both football and basketball for those that have a JUCO year. It's not 100% we bring him back if he does get one though.
Handlogten on the other hand does not meet any requirement for another year so who the hell knows.

Yes, but do you know of any better semi-realistic options at the moment?
The shelves are empty at the transfer store.
Maybe there's a hidden Euro or Aussie out there that we don't know about, or a G league we can pay enough.
I just don't have any leads.

diamonds in the rough, as the Great One Dale once posited.

Yeah unfortunately I don’t either. Cannot believe we’re gonna have a Final 4 level team at the 1-4 and then suck again at the 5 after what we watched last season.

Sounds like decent odds. You never know with the NCAA though.
