Not even gonna lie..after I left the Miss State game this year, I’d have taken that helmet lover back in a hot minute.

I don’t understand the hatred, bunch of Springdale folks don’t like him I guess.

I enjoyed watching Jones, Cobbs, Bua, Peters, etc play and how they competed. It was a good watch and seeing and hearing Paul Eels again calling the game was cool.

To each their own.

He wasn’t a good coach, he was a good motivator. He lost when we shouldn’t and won when we shouldn’t. All the big games he won was mostly out of motivation for keeping his job. You can only get them hyped to win games they shouldn’t maybe 1 or 2 times a season, then he would fumble the games he definitely should have blown them out.

But everyone in the state liked him, like Sam so when he sucked, and we should have replaced him with Gus, our state was divided.

I have predicted the same thing would happen with sam, people like him and it will divide our state when he should be let go. It happened microscopically this year, when half the people wanted him gone after the Alabama game. Then everyone got on board with me after the Miss State loss. Then he drug half of you back after Florida. And coasted into another season.

At that point, he would have been a college OC at two different schools, but papaw Frank didn’t hire anyone that hadn’t been a head coach.

Yeah, it surprised me when he hired Crowe.

Nutt should have been fired after the 2005 season and hired Butch Davis.

Gus should have never been hired at Arkansas.

That was a high school decision.

The behavior that forced him to leave says otherwise. Some wanted him dead.

No one forced him to leave, he took the Ole Miss Job before the 2007 season began. This is why after a few days after the LSU game, he was already the head coach at Ole Miss.

He knew that Broyles retiring would play a part in his departure and said so himself.

2008 was going to be a rebuilding year and Nutt wasn't going to wait around and see if his new boss would give him a mulligan like Broyles did.

He played it smart, got himself fired with millions and made it like he resigned. He went across the river, got fired again and got richer.

He wasn't a good coach that survived with generational talent in two players in a much weaker SEC.

Had one of the most talented Arkansas teams in 2006 and still won nothing.

That’s not true. He wanted to leave but couldn’t because he was under contract, that’s why he was released from the “golden handcuffs”.

He won the games that guaranteed him another year and contract extension, and nothing more.

He wasn't going to leave without his 3.5 million buyout money.

According to then Stanley Reed chairman of the University of Arkansas board of trustees, Arkansas didn't want to fire him because it would make them look bad.

He said that led to a seven figure payout to Nutt and Nutt's resignation.

The payout was negotiated and approved by Chancellor John White and athletic department officials not by the board.

Nutt was fired but they slipped in the word resignation to avoid any backlash.
