frick that, look at Europe and all of the other countries that had stricter shut downs. They are all right there with us or even ahead in a lot of cases!
This needs to be a common sense issue. Not a knee jerk reaction!

Four European countries are "ahead" of us. San Marino, a micro-country where even a few deaths will throw the numbers out of whack. Spain, which is in its 300th straight year of not working. Belgium, which seems like a nice place but they can't keep a government for longer than a couple of months and often go for months at a time without a functioning government at all. The UK, a country that thanks God daily for our failed response or the world would be mocking them constantly for how bad they've handled COVID.
Huzzah. We beat two countries without a working government and Bozo Boris Johnson.
Oh wait! We are also beating a good chunk of South America. That is cause for celebration isn't it? Print the banners folks, we are doing better than Peru!
Wear your mask and avoid large social gatherings where you can't socially distance. Its not rocket science here folks. Just do your part and we can put this behind us.

Gotta love it. The Great Reset all these global fricks are looking for.
Know what's funny? tens of thousands of small businesses nationwide are gone, for good, yet online retail is up over 30% YTD.
What does that tell you? There are those in power who are just fine destroying the middle class and transferring generations of wealth to the Amazon and Walmart overlords.
I couldnt eat a fricking cheeseburger in my local favorite spot (which only seats about 35 people anyway) but I could waltz down the aisles of Home Depot with hundreds of other idiots.

Are you wearing a mask at home like Lioneld and his band of corrupt hippies told you to on Thanksgiving

Locking down is the stupidest possible idea. There won't be any small business left after this bullshite

The best places to eat are small business and yet another shutdown and we are left is shitty McDonalds.

There was a month or so at the beginning of when covid first hit here where I would get irrationally pissed off every time I drove past a Lowe’s or Home Depot and saw the masses of folks there.
I think it was really the whole essential thing - as if 90% of the people were there to fix their toilet. Hell no, they were there to work on their yard or prettying up something in their house. Well that combined with some random hag’s comment on Facebook complaining about the workers being too close together behind a counter. It took all I had to not ask her why the hell was she doing there if she was so concerned.
All that said, my county’s numbers are about triple what they were a little over a week ago. So I’m masking up (when out and about) and laying pretty low.
We’ve lost one restaurant here but the folks were old and had health problems so they just decided to close up. Had the rest not offered curbside, i figure it would have been more for sure.

ETA: and its government functions much better than ours.

I didn't mean ahead as if this were a game.
I look at Europe as a union just like the states are a union.
As a whole even after Europe's more strict shut downs they are surpassing us in daily infection rates currently on average.

No one said there is anything to celebrate about. Why are you jumping to conclusions and being a dbag in general? All I am saying is that the 'cure' can't be worse then the cause. We can't shut down a whole society because only 99.99 will survive. It is destroying the middle class of America. That would be a knee jerk reaction.

Which is why I've advocated for targeted local shutdowns in high infection areas and government support of the workers and businesses in question. Its not an all or nothing sort of thing.
The death rate of COVID, as of right now, is just under 2% in the United States. We've gotten better at treating it thank God, but we are still losing over a 1000 people a day to it.
We play this smart. Shut down areas where people are dropping like flies. Financial support for those impacted by the shutdowns (yes, it will be expensive but people dying is more expensive). Wear a mask in public and avoid large gatherings where you can't social distance.
We hold out until Spring when there will have been enough vaccinations to knock this back to where its easily manageable.
This is not a binary choice of destroy the economy or sit back and watch people drop dead.

Arkansas is requiring bars, restaurants, and clubs that serve alcohol to close by 11 p.m. in an effort to curb a surge in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson, who announced the move Thursday, said it was recommended by a task force he formed to address the growth in virus cases this winter.
The earlier closing time begins Friday and remains in effect through Jan. 3.

I hated pulling the lever for that f-ing swamp scum.
But there was no other option. I forgot who the ladybwqs in the primary, but she really really went after Asa for his RINO type moves in the past, but she just never got the traction to make a dent.
I belive if the primary were this year, she would have gotten alot more votes.
Btw, all the Peter Pans who tell people to wear masks all the time: THEY DON'T WORK
