What will you say if friday we miraculously upset mizzou and morris will equal your idol fat Bert's season 1 win total? Will you commit seppuku?

read the thread dipshit - Bert wasn't my idol. I also said this in the processing thread:

Maybe he'll find a way to pull an upset vs. Mizzou.

He does that and about 99% of the fanbase will be happy.

I'll be happy if he just wins all his noncons next season.... and that sucks.

But good on you for hoping someone commits suicide.

Yes Bielema went 3-9 his first year. That team was much, much better than this one. This is the worst team in the history of Arkansas football and it’s not even close. We have guys running into each other, O linemen staying in their stance after the ball is snapped, receivers and punters getting hit in the face with the ball, etc. It’s fricking peewee football out there right now and we’re a national laughing stock. That didn’t happen in 2013.

3-9 was bad and Bielema should have won more BUT 2-10 is much much worse
Compare the rosters of the 3-9 team and the 2-10 team and tell me which one underperformed more.

Bielema's team had 3 NFL TEs, 3 NFL o-lineman, 4 NFL defensive-lineman (off the top of my head), and one Allen brother.

Morris team has Agim and Boyd. That is it. No one else has contributed. Bielema under-achieved. Chad has no talent

When adjusted for roster size, competition faced, and overall morale... you are right. This is the worst football team in the history of our program.

Our two wins are over a 3-8 Eastern Illinois team (FCS) that just fired their coach. To add insult to injury he's an Arkansas alumni.

The other is against perennial Arkansas whipping boy Tulsa. Who is currently enjoying one of their worst seasons of all time. But for UConn they would have a legitimate argument to be the worst team in FBS football this year.

From 1942 to 1952 we went 44-64. A woeful 40.7% winning percentage. Since Bobby P had his little accident we've won 41% of our games. If we lose to Mizzou it will be 40.6%.

This is the worst team in Arkansas history during the worst run in our program's history.

I'm prepared to give CM another couple of seasons to pull us out the worst tailspin the program has ever been in. Not even the best coach can win when a team is in complete freefall. Bear Bryant went 1-9 his first year at A&M. While Chad isn't Bear Bryant, I'm willing to over look this first year.

247 composite recruiting average

Bielema 2013 - 23
Bielema 2014 - 29
Bielema 2015 - 22
Bielema 2016 - 23
Bielema 2017 - 27

Bielema average = 24.8

Morris 2018 - 48
Morris 2019 - 16

Morris average - 32

You completely missed my point, I'm not counting stars or rankings at all. I could care less if they are 1* or 5*, I want to see what other schools are after them. If GA, Bama, LSWho, or other big SEC/ACC/B10 schools are after them that tells me much more than stars.

My point was we competed against Conf USA, Sun Belt, and other mid majors with Bert and you are seeing those results on the field right now. We could field a hell of a Sun Belt team right now and it's going to take this class plus 2 more to get out of this hole.

As for last years CCM class I'll give him a pass because of the time he had to assemble it. No more passes on recruiting this year or any more with CCM there.

1) Bert had a proven track record and we could realistically hope he would get better. Chad Morris sucked at SMU for three years and then we hired him to predictably suck here.

2) we had never gone through that kind of suckage before. We had the stomach to go through it one time. Now we're not only doing it again, but it's twice in a row and slightly wore than the first time. We're understandably weary.

Surely you can understand how this makes the situations not 100% identical.

He took a 1-11 team to a bowl in 3 years and increased his win total every year he was there. If that's sucking, a LOT of coaches suck.

and this is my problem you cant rush the problem even more now when we are coming off suckage vs when we are coming off winning. it is naturally going to be even tougher now than the first time.surely you can understand that. Because otherwise all your saying is that you want to act like a big baby and cry and pout and say wahh!! I wanna win now!! Wahh!!! It wont magically happen you have to let the coach get talent in and then develop them.

I'm not happy about Chad Morris, but no one sane is suggesting we fire him before a minimum of three years - and only if we fail to make a Bowl in the third year. Every coach deserves a chance to get his own style and players going full-steam. I'm upset we hired this guy in this first place, but that's a different gripe.

That's not quite my attitute. Even if we were destined to fail to make a bowl, some if these losses have been unacceptable entirely. Also, pretty big condescension coming from the "member? I member" guy. Let's all remember some of the stupid shite we said not too long ago if we're going to question others' maturity.

So CBB took his 3-9 team to a bowl the next season... After taking over a 4-8 team... Does that make him a good coach?

BTW.. That SMU team that Morris left behind is fighting for bowl eligibility.

Say what you want about BB in hindsight, but you're a liar if you say you weren't happy and excited about the future of Bert's teams after years 2 and 3. Year 2 ended with us shutting out two ranked teams including LSU and destroying Texas. Year 3 was pestered by injuries but the team was still playing high quality football by November as they were the year prior. At that point everyone bought in to what Bert was building because improvement was obvious and there was a clear blueprint for what he wanted and we had begun to see it work. Enos fixed the issues most had with Chaney's playcalling and definitely boosted the development of QBs, but losing Pittman turned out to be the beginning of the end for Bert. The rest is obviously history, but there was definitely a time where the vast majority of the fanbase would have rated BB's coaching at the time as satisfactory. He just didn't have the work ethic to keep going and made a few bad staff choices.

No idea what validity this has at all. A team that was 7-6 last year is fighting for bowl eligibility? Should we alert someone?
