Nick just seems so eradic in his game.

Missing that season at Arkansas didn't do him any favors in any way. Did AB a favor though, if NS had played, I don't think AB would have had to do so much and wouldn't have shown the scouts as much leading to being a little lower draft pick. Just a theory in my head.

AB has the feel for the game and connectivity as a passer along with size for the position and defensive intensity/instincts. Those things are what pushed him up draft boards along with his character and interviews.

NSJ hasn't relaxed or played under control since the Euro injury. It was described as being speed up, erratic in the draft process. The injury timing made it impossible for him to adjust. We havne't seen the game slow down for him and the pressure to catch up on the fly to the college game during the season when who he was playing with and against had so many more reps. Pressing.

Now he's playing PG in summer league because Charlotte didn't bring in another one after giving LaMelo the max. The Charlotte SL team in terms of talent isn't very good. NSJ shot isn't falling and he's taking a LOT of long 2's.

The hype came from the Peach Jam his junior year before COVID when he exploded along side Brandon Miller and got the #1 ranking because others in his class reclassified to 2022 or chose pro options like Scoot and the Thompson twins.

His defense has been bad for a couple years on tape and he lacks explosivity off the dribble to get by guys and attack the rim.

Black and Walsh showing why the chemistry was so bad when nsj got back. Hard to integrate a high volume low percentage shooter who can't play defense or pass.

.Walsh is NICE

Miller being so much worse than Smith takes the pressure and talk away from Nick which is good.

Miller was 4/18 0/7 today.

Walsh said after the game that the Celtics coaches have been telling him basically to green light it from 3 and they loosened him up by having so much confidence in his game.

Then you have Wilkerson on 247 saying the Arkansas coaches were basically begging him to shoot more, but he wouldn't.

Regardless, something doesn't add up, and Walsh looks like he may end up being Marcus Smart, but with a better offesnive arsenal. Boston just got an absute steal for a 2nd round pick.

AB also looked like Maui AB in his Magic debut. Going to the rack, left handed finishes, eurosteps, half court passes in stride, and even hit an incredible fade away three. You could also see just how much confidence he had and how well he can see the floor.

If I was a kid, I'd have an AB/Magic jersey already ordered. He's going to play a lot for Orlando.

Just waiting for them to drop the preschool/toddler size jersey for him and then I’m getting one for my oldest.

Well he did just go 1-6 from three today which is more how he looked here. Small sample size.

I think it just has to be a relief to know you're on a team. They spend a few years under a massive microscope leading to draft day. NSJ needs to chill like Walsh and AB have and just play.

Yeah Black looked really good, super comfortable already. Saw a little bit of Walsh and he had an impressive and-1. He looks a lot better offensively than he did with us.

Also saw Umude playing for Detroit, he’s leading them in 3p% during summer league. Hope he gets a deal with them. More pro Hogs in the league the better!

The razorbacks would give this magic summer league hell. They are so bad. I just saw them commit 6 straight turnovers

Stuff like this makes last year more frustrating. We were still good, but healthy TB and Nick changes the game.

Even when he's been inefficient so far, NSJ has shown ability to create his own shot. I still really think he was a steal with his potential where he was taken in the draft. Though I definitely understand why he dropped with not being able to show it consistently in college - I still think a lot of that had to do with injury/rhythm

Having a couple veteran NBA stars with a couple new upcoming stars will do wonders for our program.

I think nick struggles when they try to make him take on pg responsibilities. If u put him in and tell him to get buckets a d only get buckets I think he's a much better player. It limits him but that's the best version of him
