Isaiah Joe and Mason jones were poor defenders until muss got here. Maybe that is the angle
That's kinda where I sit. I don't really care what their defense looks like before they get coached by Muss. He obviously gets more out of people in that regard.

He certainly tries, sometimes you just get a Jalen Graham though.

Also, the same guy saying he is a poor defender says he is a poor shooter when he shot 37% from 3P until the last 4 games

True

Never could figure out what the hangup was there. I don't think he lacked the athleticism to be be an effective defender.

Someone said a favorable comp for this guy would be like a JD Notae

Torvik's defensive grade for Menifield is actually higher than his offensive grade FYI

I'm not seeing where he's necessarily a defensive liability. His biggest problem statistically is just getting to the line and being a non factor on the boards, but for a traditional PG not a big deal

How much zone does Washington play? Their coach is a Syracuse guy, so I'd assume a lot. Just something to keep in mind when evaluating the kid on defense.

Just wait till he gets in the 50 foul per game SEC.

Also, excluding his final 4 games, he would have been a top 15 3p shooter in the SEC with that average

Yeah I don't think he's a bad shooter, looks like he just takes tougher shots than you might like to see on a consistent basis, but that won't be a new problem for us.

It'll be very interesting to see how much Muss continues to value defense over offense.

Lately he's preferred to win games 60-58 and guys that can't play D like Graham or Pinion can't get on the floor.

If that continues Blocker and Fall will start as they are two elite defenders especially Fall. All quiet on Walsh still may be a good thing, that would be 3 insane defenders out of 5 right there.

Some guy on Facebook comments says he's from Forrest City but lives in Seattle. Watched 15 or so of their games this year. He is pumped! Says he's small but an incredible athlete that is lightning quick. Says we are getting a baller.

Take it for what its worth.

I don't get that at all.

While I'm not overwhelmed, I really like what I've seen from Menifield. Not sure we really needed a true PG, but as long as he can withstand SEC pressure, I think he looks great for that position.

Don't care how he projects to the NBA. Actually I selfishly hope he projects poorly and will be here for a while.

That's the irony here. Everyone bashed the one and done kids because they weren't immediately ready and won't contribute multiple years and now we can potentially replace black's production for a season or 2 or 3 and people are "underwhelmed"

I wish just looking at stats was all it took. I'm sure coaches do too.

I think Ford ends up being a starter at some point in the next year or two.

If you exclude the first three games he’s 28.7% on 3 point attempts. The poor FT % makes me inclined to think he might live closer to the latter. He’s just a freshman so who knows. Not much of a sample size.

If he were a junior this would be underwhelming but I think it’s a nice pickup when you consider the upside.

At 6’1 150 lbs he doesn’t really fit Muss’s stated goal of having a positionless lineup.

Ford's only hope of ever playing significant minutes at Arkansas is to be an assist-heavy facilitator PG who plays good defense.

I don't see his offensive game ever developing into much of anything while he sits on the bench another year.

He should transfer to a mid-major with a really good offensive developmental coach, but he apparently loves the university and the program so he doesn't want to leave.

Great kid. Hope he succeeds, but I don't know how he ever gets on the court in Fayetteville with how Muss works the portal

Ford Is basically a point guard version of juggernaut. Once he gets going downhill he's too big to stop. You hosting on him because he's behind 3 NBA players as a true freshman.

Just watched some Brazile highlights and I got pumped again that he’s coming back. He was our most unique talent and the team was never the same when he went out. That’s a really big piece.
