Graham was our best player tonight but made one bad pass and never saw the floor again…

The team that gained that 20 point lead shows the potential of this team. Good passing, got the ball to the middle of the floor and scored fairly easily. Played pretty good defense as well.

The team that gave up a 20-2 run is offensively handicapped. No ball movement. No confidence. Poor defense.

The latter included a lot of Devo and little
Graham/Davenport.

Brazile has honestly been terrible most of the year as well.

This team sucks arse.

El Ellis: 1 minute, no stats.

Menifield 19 minutes.

That was fast.

Gotta love Beard having Ole Miss 10-0 in year one.

Conference play is going to be rough the way this team looks right now.

They are the only ones to avoid a random upset.

I felt like graham didn’t get enough playing time, especially down the stretch when the lead started dwindling. Muss needs to make the decision on the best 5 and substitute accordingly. But these guys can be so up and down and they are very talented so that’s going to be a difficult decision.

I don’t get Muss sometimes. Ellis was terrible early in the season and he kept getting major playing time. Then he finally showed why he had been getting minutes against Duke when I thought he was arguably our best player. We’ve had three games since and he basically hasn’t played.

Pinion coming in deep off the beach to start and he predictably gets 2 minutes. Graham has been with the team for two seasons and I still don’t think anyone knows if he’s our best front court player or a scrub. Lawson has been our second best player all year IMO and he’s been relegated to the bench.

I just wish we’d let guys have a real shot to earn their place on the floor and then move on in one direction or the other.

Brazille is puzzling to me. He might be the best player on the team but I feel like we’re better when he’s on the bench. I don’t know if that’s on him or how he’s being used

He's good as a spot up shooter and a straight line driver.

When he puts the ball on the floor he tends to dribble into trouble, and or make a bad pass. I don't want the ball in his hands unless he's going to shoot or immediately drive. He isn't a good enough passer right now.

I'd like him to be more of a pick and roll type player. Based off how the defense plays it dictates whether he rolls to the basket or falls back to 3pt line for a wide open look. Lipscomb wore us out on that play. Their point guard would run pick and roll, and the big would fall back leaving him wide open, and defense couldn't recover in time.

I also think he would be effective working the baseline setting screens and presenting himself for our guards to get an easy dunk if they beat their man.

He really needs to work on his horizontal foot speed. Way too slow. Guards can get around him with ease and he can't quite make up the ground a lot of times to block shot from back side.

Vertically he's good everywhere.

If we can get Graham to play unselfish on offense he needs to start.

He's got the passing ability after what I saw last night. He lured the defense in and saw Mitchell had one defender on his left hip, so he correctly made the pass to him and had an easy layup.

Defensively we would need another big in their with him at all times because he can be a little sloppy/slow at times. I really want him to start rebounding more as well.

I wouldn't even mind seeing a Mitchell, Graham, Lawson, Mark, Menifield/Devo/Blocker/Davenport lineup.

I don't mind Mark being a ball dominant guard so long as we have other players back cutting, screening, and moving without the ball. Too many times Mark will be dribbling the air out of the ball and nobody else is making an effort to get open.

That's the next step for this team. MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE AND MOVE. No more standing around at 3 pt line.

Yeah he can’t put the ball on the floor. It’s almost always trouble. Honestly, it was worse last year.

This basketball season is the one thing Yurachek didn’t need. He figured the natives wouldn’t be quite so restless with keeping Sam since we would have a good bball team.

I mean anyone who expected an Eric Musselman team to be a smooth ride was fooling themselves. All of his teams have gone through an extended period where they were trash. I’d rather his teams just be great from start to finish like you see from some blue bloods but you can’t have everything you want.

This has unfortunately been a recurring theme of CEM’s teams. It’s never particularly attractive basketball.

It disagreeing with you I have full faith in muss to have us firing on all cylinders come tournament time, I’m just saying Yurachek is probably biting his nails right now waiting on this thing to turnaround.

Yurachek needs to worry about the football program. Even if the year is a complete disaster, Muss will be fine. Truthfully, I think Muss would make a nice replacement for Yurachek if the time came.

Idk if he’d want too but he would be a good win. A motherfricker who does not like to lose. And won’t settle for mentality walking around the work place
