Just got back to the house after the game and dinner…I really believe Muss is going to be forced to have a rotation of 8-9 guys this year. I know he has always liked 6-7 but there’s just no way he can trim it down that much with all this talent.
Each guy brings a different type of energy to the game. It’s like at the flip of a switch this team can go off on their opponent.
Best crowd of the year by far today, but still lots of empties around.

I always hated this excuse but it’s true given current environment.
Arena is too big and it’s legit too expensive these days.
Can’t expect 18,000 to come and drop $100-$200/2x week for 15-20 home games a year.
Popcorn is like $10 and a sanny is $15. It’s ridic.
12,000-15,000 state of the art arena is the sweet spot where everyone kills each other for tickets and everyone is right on top of the court.
I say all this as a douche bag in Dallas that happily lights money I don’t have on fire regularly for no particular reason at all.

They priced a lot of the fans out.

Well, they spooked everybody into buying season tickets again, even if they knew they were only going to go to a couple games. Then they sell the rest on 3rd party sites. With fees, that can get pretty silly pretty quick.

I suspect business will pick up once conference play starts.
Who wants come watch San Jose St? Not many people.
Also, Bama in a dogfight with South Dakota St.

It would help if basketball season didn't overlap so much with hunting season.

The season is sold out, so it has nothing to do with price or size of the arena.
Today was the first Saturday home game of the year. So that needs to change IMO. For me, it’s been harder so far this year making the games because of the day and time. We’ve had Monday games and Wednesday games. Most have been at 7 or later. Mondays are difficult because…well it’s fricking Monday and I’m ready to plant my arse at the house after leaving the office.
Last year…The four seats beside mine were empty all season. Then we play Auburn, Tennessee, and Kentucky and they have someone in them then. The tickets are sold, but they only came to those four games. I guess there’s really not much you can do about that, but for me it’s weird. Those same four seats have been empty all season so far this year too.

Buying and holding season tickets vs going to every game definitely has something to do with it.
Can have your season tickets and avoid $2k of concessions/attendance costs only going to big games.

First year to have season tix... Not great, but sideline view up high.
Anywho, Sold a few... And tried to give some away. Nobody wanted them when I offered them 2 days in advance. Zilch.
OOC games during the week are hard to get rid of. and before anyone asks.. The ones I sold were sold for less than cost.
8-10 bucks each. Why did I sell them? because I couldn't give em away, but some doofus will purchase them from SH.

It was a great 2nd half for sure.
Something kicked in, the defense went up several notches. We overwhelmed them.
Fascinating to see Muss at work the past few years. He is a MACHINE! WPS

Every team has a white guy that gets in at the end of a blowout. Ours just happens to be a top 100 recruit that would start for half the teams in the sec.

Other teams fans are going to absolutely hate us. I love it.

You’re missing a Mitchell

Muss implied NSJ wasn’t happy being unable to return to action more quickly and that Muss was holding him back out of caution.

I had zero insight on this front (and likely neither did anyone else), but from the beginning this line completely smelled like the quintessential "whoa is me", self-deprecating, high school cheerleader gossip, half-arse 5 separations of bullshite, coping mechanism conspiracy theory that Arkansas fans have trademarked as a way to feel like they "knew" all along why they would be disappointed again.
We may win a title with Muss, we may not. But it won't be because of some snake bitten, insecure Arkansas karma that so many of our fans embrace as they face DWR Stadium to pray against the 4th and 3 pass to Peschel 5 times a day.
It will be because another team put the ball in the hoop more than we did.
