Yeah the season isn't a total waste because it seems like Muss broke through the recruiting ceiling and put us at the big boy table for 5 star recruits. The results with said recruits have been disappointing. I think he's better with transfers. I doubt we will see him bring in more than 2 or 3 freshmen each year after this season.

That won't do much good when this team is showing signs of quit.

Disagree there's nothing special about this team versus any other 7,8,9 seeded team.
All hat, no cattle.

They took the #2 team in the country to the buzzer on their home court 3 days ago. Tonight may have been a hangover after that effort saturday but one awful game doesn’t make them quitters.

This isn't the only game they've done this though

His bread and butter is the portal.
Hopefully he doesn't double down and do this freshmen BS each year.

Every team in the country has had games like this. Some more than others. Getting your arse kicked doesn’t mean you quit. You got beat, move on.

I don't believe it is some kind of hangover but simply let go of the rope as the great Houston Nutt would say.

I think what burns me up is the flat footed look on defense. Letting guys go right past you then pissing and moaning because there was no help.
Saw Mitchell’s do it a few times.
We were slow and constantly out of place or behind.
That’s not typical of Muss teams in late February

Oh it’s definitely a flawed team I’m just saying the talent is there to beat anyone when it clicks. In the tourney it’s one game at a time, anything can happen. Yes we could lose in the first round but I wouldn’t be completely surprised with another elite 8 type run

Ricky Council when asked about the mentality in the locker room after the game “no comment”
Something is off with this team and Muss seems super checked out.
What a bizarre year. Won’t be surprised at all to lose Saturday.

We are not good. Muss has also been outcoached lately. The production of Walsh, the twins, Graham, and Kamani tonight was laughably bad. Pretty sure they combined for less than 10 points and rebounds total.
Walsh has been my most disappointing player this year. He has a long ways to go to even be effective next year IMO.

He really puts in the effort each time he steps on the court but he is just so raw. He will make some improvements next year.

All the tools for sure, and he did develop this year. Weight room all off-season will be big for him. And continuing to work on his shot of course.

The basketball team is telling the football team to "hold my beer" when it comes to underachieving.
The parallels are plenty. Tons of talent and high expectations after a great season the year prior, yet a seemingly 'off' team dynamic, a coach who seems to be checked out at times, and a rash of injuries, all culminating in a mediocre and underwhelming season. And AB is basketball KJ — when he's on and in a groove it's a thing of beauty, but when he's off...boy howdy is he OFF.
Football went from ranked preseason West darkhorse to 6-6 and a coin flip win in a shitty bowl game. Basketball went from preseason top 10 to flirting with the bubble.

He's no where near as explosive as I thought he was coming out of high school.
He needs to learn how to draw fouls and/or finish around the rim better. He already struggles to shoot so he has to learn how to generate offense any way possible. Too easy to defend.

Our transfer class has been a huge bust too
Council and the twins are just not that good. Yeah Council puts up points but he’s not efficient at all and doesn’t contribute at all in other ways
The twins get muscled by teams with legitimate bigs
Graham is fine offensively but isn’t a great fit for what muss wants - so why bring him in?
Brazille is the exception
So we went 1 out of 5. But I guess the transfer market is tougher when you have an elite recruiting class coming in
