Graham's lack of minutes yesterday was odd. We kept Bediako on the bench with foul trouble for a big chunk of the game and would have seemed a time for Graham to shine. I do trust Muss but some of his substitution decisions can be puzzling at times.

Council, and Devo together when Black was on the bench. Off day for him for sure.

Black killed us yesterday, his defense was awful. Maybe beyond awful. He was on the bench most of the 1st half, when we started pulling away, and we made a come back when he fouled out.

His D all year has been less than stellar, definitely not a strong part of his game, though I haven’t watched all the games.

I don’t watch NBA, but I’m guessing defense isn’t a huge focus so it may not hurt him at the next level.

Makhel +2 in 18 min

Makhi has been in a slump. 3 turnovers in 13 minutes. He needs to start going up with it when he catches the ball down low in good position

I don't know. He's had some good games defensively. His foot speed is a little slow but length allows him to play from behind. Getting all those early fouls definitely didn't help his defense vs Bama

I give him a pass occasionally.

Anthony does so much for this team that doesn't show up in the stat sheet. He plays a lot of minutes every night and has so much responsibility on his shoulders.

He's probably the most composed FRESHMAN PG I've seen here in a long time.

He sticks to the game plan, doesn't take bad shots, always thinking of making the right play. He's honestly too unselfish offensively. We could use 10-20 ppg out of him at times but he would rather give his teammates a shot.

He's got a little floater he has shown throughout the season. He really needs to utilize it more because he gets to the middle of the lane all the time.

I've never once felt, after a loss, that Anthony had anything to do with it. He just plays smart, and has been the key to most of our success this season.

That "charge" on Black when Miller just rammed into him was a terrible call.

He's a true freshman. It takes most players a few years out of HS to compete with elite college players and low level NBA players. A lot of our players are very raw and just need more time with Muss. Time that they unfortunately (for us) aren't going to get because they will jump to the NBA before that happens.

Black has to make quite a few business decisions on the defensive end. for 80% of the year, if he was in foul trouble, we lose the game. he had to be on the floor. that means not playing defense as hard, letting some people have a basket sometimes, etc.

when he's locked in, his defense is above avg. he moves his feet and he's long. he plays passing lanes. yesterday was just a turd of a game.

I don't know if you guys noticed but there were multiple times Bama players just put both hands on our guys and shoved the shite of of us.

Saw 3 times on black. A couple times on screens and another on a rebound.

And another time they shoved Walsh in the back, pushed him to the ground as he was going for a rebound.

Officiating bias on the road is a fricking joke. Turn on any game in the nation and you'll see the road team getting fricked by the zebras.

Because of this college basketball is only really worth watching for the early season and NCAA tournaments.

The worst call was the charge on Black for his 5th. The defender was falling before contact was made and Black was very obviously trying to avoid contact on the play.I know we benefited from it greatly last season with Jaylin Williams but the charge rule, or at least the enforcement of it, is one of the worst in basketball.

I still feel like the Bama game was a good prep for a sweet 16/ Elite 8 type game.

That was what those games are like. Big lead swings and towards the ends it comes down to a possession or two.

On a neutral court that’s an Arkansas win in the tournament. Arkansas is a second weekend team at the minimum no matter what anybody says.

Agreed, just want to get off that 8/9 line but we can stand toe to toe on a neutral court with a good number of teams

It’s like calling balls/strikes on a borderline pitch in baseball. I’ve proposed this idea before and think it could work for charges in basketball too.

If a pitch is so close to the strikezone that the ump can’t say with reasonable certainty whether it’s a ball or strike, the ump would call “borderline.” There would be a “borderline” arrow that goes back and forth like the possession arrow in basketball. If your team has the arrow, then the call would go in favor of your team.

Same type of system could be used for questionable charge calls. You know officials are just guessing on those calls a lot of the time.

I know I’ve been on my Thunder shite lately but I’ve seen two recent mock drafts where they take either Nick Smith or Anthony Black. We could potentially have a third of our current NBA players on the same team, would be so cool.

It’s smart on OKC’s part. If you can get good Arkansas talent there is an untapped fan base.
