2021 Razorback Baseball: Chasing SEC History

I am still researching back in years...but here is what I have found.
2013 Vanderbilt is the only SEC team to go a league season and win all of its regular season league series in the 30 game era. 1986 LSU won all of its series, but not as many games against league foes.
It looks as if Arkansas is attempting to be the 2nd SEC program to win all league series in a season since the 30 game format.
Impressive.
Notable SEC Teams
1997 LSU: 3 series losses
2019 Vandy: 2 series losses
1999 LSU: 3 series losses
2013 LSU: 1 series loss
2011 South Carolina: 1 series loss
2010 Florida: 1 series loss
1994 Tennessee: 1 series loss
2007 Vandy: 1 series loss
2017 Florida: 2 series losses

Best year under DVH. Hopefully we take it home this year from Omaha.

Just hope we can find some more consistent reliever outings other than Kopps if and when we get to Omaha

Yeah if we could find 1 more pitcher, whether it be a starter or reliever. Who can come in and give us consistent innings I’d bet on us winning it all. But right now I just haven’t seen enough consistency out of anyone besides kopps to just lock us in. All it takes is kopps to be off or get hurt and we aren’t looking pretty

Lockhart was good yesterday. It’s big going forward that he can get us into the 5th inning. We got in a hole this past weekend with our starters not lasting.
We’ve gotta have Wicklander get into the 6th. We’ve gotta have Pallette get into the 5th or 6th.
Ideally Friday, we can get by with just Kopps. Saturday’s, you use Monke and then Costeiu to close out. Then that sets up Sunday(Game 3) with Lockhart, long relief Bolden(2-3) then hand over to Kopps in the 9th. This would still leave Vermillion, Morris for spot duty L vs. L or R vs. R matchup options.

Yeah what you setup is the ideal scenario. I agree Lockhart looked good yesterday

The key to our bullpen is scoring more runs. These one run games stresses our pen. Zeb and Morris can give us quality innings but they aren't useful when there is zero margin for error.
This shouldn't be an issue in a regional since we should coast to a win against a 4 seed. Also not worried about a 3 game series because we do have enough pitching for 2 games.
The first part of the CWS is where I see us stumbling. I would hate to see Vandy, tenner and state in our side of the bracket. Even then we have a punchers chance.

I was really hoping Noland would step up this year and become an elite pitcher for us

I hate to see it and to post it...but I think Noland may be done.
Was really looking forward to him stopping football and going all baseball.

He isn't playing anymore?

May Be Done....
I know nothing... Just the looks of things.
Hope I am wrong and somehow he pulls it together.
Sorry If I led you in the wrong conclusion... But I did say "May"

I know you've said you're new to following baseball, so just an FYI that more often than not, baseball players under DVH bounce back quite a bit. Baseball players' trajectories are the opposite of linear more often than not. Its a weird sport.
Kopps is a perfect example. TJ in 2018. Solid year in 2019 with a 3.89 ERA over 41.2 innings. Then 2020 he had an 8.18 ERA over 11 innings. Some commentary was that he was "done", "peaked", etc..
Connor has talent. He'll probably get some innings in the SECt. If he looks really good, don't be surprised to either see him in comfortable lead games through the postseason or be an ace next year.
Anything can happen. The probability distribution of outcomes in baseball is very wide. Thats part of the reason MLB plays 162 games. You have to increase your sample size to reduce your standard error.

And me. I felt exhausted after game three. The series with Tennessee was as intense a series that I can remember since the CWS finals.

Loved it, but wasn't really talented enough to compete.
Thanks for sharing, College ball is new to me as in the past 4-5 years. Have fell in love with it overall. Follow what several of you know to gain knowledge!

I know nothing about you, was just picking up on your previous posts and trying to be loving and caring...
And all that other corporate retreat shite.
A great O/U on Conner's IP for the rest of the year is 1.1.... whats the betting line here?

I'd start him and Wiggins in the SEC tournament just to see what happens since it doesn't really mean anything to us. If we win then great. Might pitch Lockhart if we made it to the finals but I'd like to not use our main guys.

But I do appreciate the knowledge.
And all the other corporate retreat chit as well.

I actually have faith in Connor. It’s all mental for him right now. The kid has the talent he just needs the sauce.

I'd like to see him get some innings in the SEC tournament. Those games are worthless and it'd be an opportunity to see how he's progressing against good talent.
Any thoughts?

If Pallette is really out for the year we will need Connor and Zeb to step up and give us some good innings in the tourney.
I hope they can or this amazing season won't mean shite in the long run.
