All many have said was to wait and see how it plays out with real data and facts.
Which is exactly what I was doing, yet several are apparently butthurt by it. The real data and facts are that we just got a Chavis recruit who may turn out to be a defensive beast, but wasn't good enough to get an offer from Chavis while he was at aTm, or offers from any other P5 team. Right?

He's a three star. Granted, toward the lower end of the threes, but a three nonetheless. That's what we tend to get.
Seems I read about him a while back as maybe being underrated.
Does keep us in the NOLA area though, which I think is important for us keep a toehold in.

His video looks very good to me, but I don't get paid big money to identify good football players from film. It makes me wonder what the deal is. The kid looks solid, so why was Arkansas his only opportunity to play with the big boys?

He was playing as a 6'1/210 defensive tackle in HS until this past year.

So with only one year at LB, he's probably a project of sorts. This would be the year to take a flyer of sorts, I guess.

so we took a flyer on a kid with an atm backup option...this happens every year atleast once.

Alexander is a huge pickup for WR!!! 6'4"
with some speed to boot.
And we have several crystal ball picks for Foucha...
I am thinking we are looking a bit better overall, especially when you look at the average on 247, with the late start and all...

From a small school?
This is the type of player Arkansas needs to do a better job of evaluating, signing, and developing. Arkansas is littered with them, guys playing out of their college potential position due to numbers and mass, or more accurately the lack there of at their small school.
I'm sure the same can be said for LA, MO, OK, and TX recruits. Get to the smaller levels and you will most often find the best athlete on the team at QB, potential guards playing tackle, potential LBs playing DL, potential Ss playing LB, etc.
The hiring of Caldwell is huge in this regard as the last time we a Dline full of SEC caliber players 2 deep was from the efforts of his recruiting that had some less than stellar star rated recruits who turned out to be NFL caliber...

Literally couldn't be any worse to start, the class as a whole is hinging on Crowe's first class level...

it's not great. it was always going to be a small class. we need to find some o linemen though. that will determine the success or failure ultimately

What a defensive emphasis Morris has made.
He has gained seven commits in short order as HC and five are defensive players.
Bishop - CB
Ferrell - DT
Fulwider - DE
Parker - LB
Alexander - DE
Two of the four commits from the previous staff in Pool - LB and Nichols - DE/DT have enrolled early.
As numbers go I expect a safety or two and potentially another DL.
Who they value more as best available we will see with tight numbers.

Not really, Bert even announced in the media before the Mizzou or Ms. State game that some guys who were graduating non-contributors were moving on from the team after the season to allow for a "full class" to be signed.
Considering that his "full classes" were 22-24 strong I would say more announcements of transfers and retiring are yet to come, unless they now think the staff change will offer an opportunity of playing time going forward.
It was mentioned in the media, but I've yet to see it paid much attention since then in the media or on message boards.

We needed linemen on both sides of the ball, we don't need more signees that never contribute on either side of the ball. This is critical for the current roster and I'm not following the logic that its going to be "ok" to "take a year off in recruiting", not only is it going to put Chad behind the 8 ball, its the same thing that happened to Crowe when he took over and he never recovered. This is ignoring the rule changes that make it ever more difficult to "catch up" after that year off, that and if you do plan to make up for this year, you really don't need to be taking away schollys from next year with blue/grey/green/yellow shirts, IMO...

Bielema knew his time was up hence the reason he had 5 JUCOs officially visit for the Mississippi State game and tried to get them as a package deal in social media leading into the visit. He was going for the quick fix, prolong strat with no depth.
The full class stuff from Bielema was bullshite because he knew he had more on scholarship than public knowledge and they couldn’t sign more than 16-18 at most.
This happens when you use blueshirts, preferred walkons and regular walkons as credit and give them scholarships along with not cutting the fat and having people leave the program either to play elsewhere or NFL.
We had a small senior class with 13 total counting Cornelius and Richardson who are both trying to return with an extra year if NCAA allows. Jared IIRC is allowed and Kevin is trying to appeal.
We will have to see attrition to make room for anymore we sign in February with people leaving before or after spring ball like Hedlund and Rogers have.

Supposedly a new school that had no previous recruits.
