Yes. And there was also an article in the Houston Chronicle a couple of days ago addressing the fact that A&M's recruiting ranking has plummeted nearly 20 spots since the coaching change. And that's after hiring a guy with the national recognition of Jimbo Fisher. It happens.
Just take some deep breaths.

Is this where we try to convince ourselves that we recruit on the same level as A&M?
don't bring logic into his melt

No, this is where we try to convince ourselves that Chavis isn't a lazy recruiter who would rather just offer and sign bodies.

And since when does not recruiting on aTm's level equate to taking kids without a single P5 offer?

My God man, save this for next year.

It's a long way until football season if you're going to melt every time the wind blows.
It's one player and one scholarship.

Where exactly does the lazy recruiter thing come from?

Either lsu or A&M fans I am sure. Could be revisionist history from LSU fans. Not sure to be honest

Dude... Either let go of the rope completely, or hang on a bit tighter. This is not a bad situation at all for us being behind the 8 ball.
As for ILB, dude has skills. Consider these things
1. Late start
2. Smaller class to fill
3. 1st year for early signing period which doesn't help us
4. New Staff getting the word out, etc
... If this is still being used next season, I get it... this year. NO!

I'm not melting, or quitting on this team or staff. I'm just not ignoring signs that Chavis wasn't and isn't the guy.
I started off saying I hope things improve next year, acknowledging the challenges this year brought.
That doesn't mean turning a blind eye to indications that Chavis is what we were warned he is.

I am not completely sold on him either, but for what it is worth. He is instant name recognition for recruits, and he has a NC ring as well to show. He has brought in some (Not Good) but Great assistants on that side of the ball. I am giving it time...

Would Courtre Alexander make you feel better? Because he just committed.

You (and some others) didn’t give Chavis a frickin chance from the start.
This idea from our fans that we are too good for John Chavis when our defense has been shite everywhere for years shows how stupid our fanbase can be.
All many have said was to wait and see how it plays out with real data and facts.
Any pulse to our defense will be improvement and attacking/pressure is a step in the right direction.

Make me feel better? No need to be a dick, I haven't been one to anyone here.
Looks like a great get for this class, I'd say. Not much in the way of offers outside of Texass, but sure, I'm happy we got him.
I'll feel better about the DC situation when I can clearly see that we aren't paying a has been for a level of performance he hasn't achieved in a long, long time. I'll feel better when I can be confident that our DC can take what everyone here seems to acknowledge are lesser recruits that what aTm signs, and puts together a cohesive, SEC caliber defense with them. Okay?

Odd how you didn't get salty until we got a solid commitment.
