Any idea of what we're going to finish at? Ranking wise?

Kind of dissatisfied that Kentucky and USCe are ahead of us.

Can't really be upset about USCe and yes, we're a better football school than Kentucky, it's likely easier to recruit there than Fayetteville

We need someone on staff that's borderline crooked to ever become great at recruiting.

I'd settle for minimal connections to SEC region high schools.

We have absolutely no one except like Lunney maybe? Is he still even on staff?

Kind of feels good being out of the loop but damn this class seems underwhelming.

In what way is it easier to recruit to Lexington Kentucky for football than it is Fayetteville? Can we just admit sometimes we get outworked?

So you know for a fact that they "outworked" us?

They get a lot of guys from Ohio.

Just got around to watching Hayden Henry's film. Don't know if he'll be any good here but man he knocked the piss out of some of those kids

I don't maybe they just got lucky but I don't think it's because it's easier to recruit to Kentucky than Arkansas

Apparently Florida made a late push at McClellion and he almost flipped but decided last night to stick with us. Glad we didn't have another Putu situation but he said he grew up rooting for them.

We're signing one player from Texas. WTF is the deal with that?

Crushing it.

Beilama recruits more from Louisiana, Florida, and up north than we ever had before while still getting guys like calloway, whaley, and rawleigh from Texas so I think it's a push. It's not like we're not trying to get those guys just having a hard time keeping a pipeline in those Texas high schools

Link?

Also, we offered more players in Texas than any other state. Just lost out to the big boys on most.

At this time last year most of us were all melting and empassioned about recruiting day... Honestly, this year I don't even give a shite. I've barely gone to 247 and haven't checked this thread in weeks. Shows how much steam the program has lost.

I'm just kind of ambivalent about both basketball and football right now. Yes, I root, but I'm honestly less interested in the team now that I was when we went 3-9....thats not good folks.

It also seems I'm not the only one. Usually there is at least 100-200 pages on the recruiting thread... This year... Not even 75...its clear as day interest is severely lacking in Razorback athletics right now.. Jeff Long should absolutely take notice.

This. I am becoming apathetic towards the football program. I haven't followed recruiting at all. Forgot today was signing day until I got a notice on my phone. This program needs something good to happen soon.

People melted last year because we got shutout on NSD.

This class was locked up months ago. It was all about hanging on to the ones we had and adding Calloway at the end.

From 247 on Bielema's signing day PC

quote:

I've never had nine kids enroll early before. So it was a little odd with so many already here. We still have an open scholarship, so it's a work in progress. Everything went as planned today.

Those early enrollees are in their third week now and have adjusted well with the weight room and academics. The first four weeks will be all Coach Herb. The next four weeks will also incorporate a little on-field stuff and Hoganese.

Chevin joining us today was some icing on the cake. ... This may be the deepest DB class I've ever been a part of.

We knew we were going to go after some JUCO wide receivers. Brandon Martin was the top of the list. When Jen (Bielema) first saw Brandon, she asked, "Is that a defensive end?"

Koilan is probably one of the more underrated recruits in our class. He's big and strong and hasn't played the receiver spot that much. ... And Jarrod was the guy who held Malik Monk pretty well in the state championship basketball game and you see what he's doing in the SEC now.

Kurt and I went after a certain kind of guy. We didn't go after "sexy and stars"... We went after "meat and potatoes." ... Wagner, it's like walking behind a moving garage.

Kirby Adcock has the ability to play inside and outside. ... Shane Clenin could play all five positions. He reminds me of Frank (Ragnow) with that skillset.

We have a pretty small class next year in the state and for us. Those (blueshirts) give us an opportunity to make the class bigger.

Patton is back home in Indianapolis taking online classes. Hope to have him on June 1.

After the first month of the season I knew we were going to a 3-4 scheme and that's when we started adjusting the numbers with E.K. Franks. I wasn't sharing it with anyone else. Then we set our numbers up accordingly with who we needed to recruit.

on Daulton Hyatt: Height, length, arm strength. ... His whole school gravitated to him, so there's leadership. He's great with Xs and Os. He fell in love with the place when he got here.

on Porter: David is a very good football player. It was more about what he was getting done in the classroom. He's giving up soccer to concentrate on getting the grades he needs to get. It was just a matter of getting that stuff done.

We captured a commitment from every player we offered in the state of Arkansas. Some others went to other Power Five schools, but they weren't offered by us. Some were based on fitting in our scheme, some were academic concerns, others were character.

By the fifth game of the season, several people from Little Rock were telling us to look at Hayden Henry. He called me Monday and said he wanted to come here.

on DBs possibly playing early: They have to mentally be able to handle the pressure of it. There is a lot of up-tempo and adjustment at the line of scrimmage. It's more than the physical aspect of it.

on Chase Hayden: I have no intention of playing him anywhere other than running back.

BB says T.J. Hammonds will cross train at wide receiver and Hayden Johnson will cross train at tight end.

This is my fifth class, so I know these guys well. We first started recruiting Calloway in his freshman year, so we've known these kids for a while. We offered Munson midway through his sophomore year. He's a kid who was on the wrong path academically, but when we offered him, he got things on track and turned his life around.

I've been trying to recruit Oklahoma since I got here. For us, that is an area... Y'all know geography better than me. I didn't know it was so close.

The very first moment I knew Robb was gone, I called every defensive recruit. There was never any indecision. Robb was the lead recruiter for those Oklahoma kids, but we got several other coaches on them, too.

BB, on what he told recruits: My first 20 games here, we were tied for dead last in the SEC. My last 20 games, we are tied for fourth in the SEC. Had we won those last two games, we'd be tied for second.

We've snuck some guys in for interviews. Being on the road is a good time to do things under the radar. One of the guys I wanted to interview was just eliminated from the NFL playoffs and another is still involved. I don't want to speculate on when it's going to happen.

I couldn't be happier for Trey Flowers. To have that connection to the Super Bowl is pretty cool. It's a fun time of the year to see those guys at the highest pinnacle of football.

this class is as good as most we have had the past 10 years.

The talent, speed, and offers are there.

Yep, we have been mediocre this year, but lets get fired up
